I just found out that I have been accepted into Valencia's Spring 2015 Nursing program!!! I heard from someone that it is possible to start a semester or two before your scheduled start date.....is that true? Also, can someone please tell me how much the uniforms (shirts) and other expenses are prior to the start of the program? I know you have to wear khaki pants...what about the sneakers? Is it all white or can it have some color added to it? What is the usual schedule for Nursing 1 and 2? Thank for any response you can provide! I can't wait to start!
I don't think your IDs have to come from a certain campus. But at west campus its in the student development building... Wherever that is. I forgot where exactly its located...they have changed so much and I'm never on campus so can't point exactly where its located. I need to go get my ID also... Might go next week.
Ah, if that is so, then it goes by SDD or some letters like that. And there will be signs for it. I always park by it, and go from there, since it's in the center, so I don't feel like I have parked a mile in the wrong directions. And I generally have to stop in there anyway, for something. Tee hee.
Hi Tvleon,
Did you buy your books yet? I went to the west campus to get my Fundamental of Nursing / Dosage cal books they said they will not have the books untill second weeks of December. OMG and I need to start reading.I tried amazon but I have no idea what the IBSN # is for these book please helpsssssssssssssss lol
@nurse
I haven't got my books yet. I am waiting to buy them beginning of Dec b/c that's when my husband gets paid. If you go on Valenciacollege.edu and go under current student you can find the bookstore link. Then follow it to west campus store and click nursing 1021c I believe...nursing 1. And all of our books will show up...and it will show pics of the books and ISBN numbers. Hope you can fig it out. I need to study too...but no mo eye yet so have to wait till beginning of Dec either way... Blah! Lol
The Fundamentals of Nursing is by Kozier & Erb and is the 9th edition, you should be able to find it on amazon that way, without an ISBN. and I also got my dosages book off amazon, Calculating Dosages Safely by Horntvedt.
You don't need a new Valencia ID if you already have one. They don't expire.
And if anyone wants to facebook connect, this is mine https://www.facebook.com/alison.mcintyre.75
@alichona
In my case I need a new one. Mine is from 2002!!!! And the I'd has changed a lot since then. So unfortunately I need a new one...whomp! I am buying my dosage book online too. Found it for $15 cheaper. But the fundamental one I guess I will wait since I can't buy in bundle anywhere that's cheaper than Valencia. At least I haven't found one yet. Maybe I will get lucky! Lol
My ID is from 2008, and they said I am eligible for a free new one, so maybe you are too, but they said I don't have to replace it if I don't want to. I probably will eventually. I have a friend that gave me the fundamentals book on a PDF version so I've been reading that, I might still buy a hard copy of the book for class.

I am glad you confirmed that we don't need a new Student ID. I already have one, and I haven't heard that we need one in particular for the nursing program. Maybe when we start clinicals at the hospitals we will need one from the hospital. I guess they will let us know on our first semester. I also need to buy the books. I just wonder which books come in bundles since buying in bundles is beneficial because they come with access codes.

Hi, I would like to start reading as well. Is there a way I can get the PDF as well. Thank you, I will appreciate all the help.
I got my Calculating Dosages Safely from walmart.com. I noticed it when I was searching at amazon. Amazon was cheaper then the bookstore, but walmart beat amazon by $10. Nice savings. But it's the newer version. No cd, it uses a plus code for online resources. Looks like it will give access to a digital version.
Glancing through it, it looks like it is teaching basic math. Lots of conversions. I believe having this information down will be real 'doable' before school starts.
I bought both books (dosages and Fundamentals of Nursing) on Amazon. Since I want to read up on the Fundamentals book ahead of time, I bought the 8th edition first for like less than $5! I'll buy the required 9th ed when the books are available at the bookstore since I believe its one of the books that have an access code!

Does it have to be West camp? I was hoping to get it done at Osceola.
