I am also 30 years old and starting nursing school in Spring...I am beyond excited and somewhat nervous. I'm a stay at home mom so this will be a complete life change for me. I have been working on pre req for a long while now... Stopped a few times to have babies etc. But got my A.A and now going to get my ASN . I was born to be a nurse and I'm so excited to be able to fulfill my dream! Congrats everyone and good luck!!!

@boragirl... The lady said mid December... But never gave me a date...our fin aid is supposed to be available on Monday...so I will be there in hopes that the books are available. At least the main Ines for now... @spangle they said no crocs. Has to be all white sneaker like shoes.

@spangle. Yea that's what I am saying... Like a semester or twobago that happened...my friend that just graduated said same thing...they are constantly changing the books which is weird to me... So that's why I didn't take the chance on a almost $200 book... But that doesn't mean it will happen...just going to wait...since I got my FA now...our aid will be available on the 8th...so I will be there first thing in the morning...gives me a little more than a month to study...but I'm gonna buy the calculating dosages from amazon... So no worries... And as previous posted she said that they just changed the book...so it most likely won't be changing..but I'd rather save my money and let my aid pay for it...

That's what I said.... But I do remember someone post in another chat that they changed their book at the last minute... So that's the only reason as to why I just didn't get it. So who knows...I guess I will wait... Let me know if they tell you anything different...

Well update!! Just got awarded my financial aid!! Thank goodness!!! I guess me going yesterday made the difference... So yay school is def happening...excited!!!

OK great! Yea went to campus today...got my parking decal...they are available now for 2015 BTW. Got a new id finally...they were laughing at my 2002 ID..lol...went to book store to buy fundamentals book and I swear I saw them on floor in back corner...first she said they didn't have them...then I said I think that's the book back there and then they said that they haven't gotten the right numbers yet for courses so the books can possibly change. She said I can buy it but that I couldn't return it if it ends up wrong. So I'm gonna wait...didn't want to take the chance with a almost $200 book. I really need to start studying... And they said can't get them til mid December! Leaving us like a month to study. Anyone can help me out with a copy of the chapters we need to study or PDF file or something? I asked my friend and she doesn't have her books anymore. Please and thank you! Oh and I talked about my FA and they said everything is still being processed... So I guess you got lucky with getting yours processed fast...this is killing me!lol also found out that for summer term I will have to pay out of pocket or get a loan since my aid won't roll over to use in summer...so that blows!!

Just emailed a financial aid specialist. So let's see what they have to say. If anything at all. I'm starting to get really worried. Then to top it off Celena Lie just emailed me about my compliances and that to make sure I am going to be able to take a seat in spring. I'm sure that email went out to everyone but just has me scared. So fingers still crossed. Also..still have to do my finger printing... Do any of you guys know where I can go to get them done? And that $190 we paid covers the cost right? Thanks!!

When did you put in your appeal? I didn't mines on the 7th right after orientation... And it still says graduated. I really hope they approve me. I don't remember it taking this long. I hears back within like 3/days last time. I'm getting scared.

Yea I did the appeal... Wrote up what I needed to explain...and got signature from nursing dept. Last time I appealed it only took a few days...although I know its supposed to take longer but still...u know I qualify I'm just wondering if they will approve me or not this time around...ugh so stressful!!

Lol @boragirl I know right?! Haha... I will find you! I paid for my uniform out of pocket. I still haven't heard anything from financial aid since I had to appeal since I already have my A.A and over 150% . so still waiting and didn't want to take the chance for last min stuff. So fingers crossed cause if my fin aid isn't approved Idk what I'm gonna do. So let's see...

Just left the uniform store...they didn't seem to have a lot of the woman's tips left...but they have lots of pants. I have to go back to pick up wed so thcause they have to put ribbon and VC logo on pants. I was d how much it was to embroider my lab coat and the said $7... My husband just surprised me with buying me a stethoscope.. A pink littmann. I'm excited! I forgot I have to buy scissors and a light pen ..I guess I will look on eBay sometime soon. Oh and I need to get nude granny panties...cause man those pants are super see through!! Hahah!

@alichona In my case I need a new one. Mine is from 2002!!!! And the I'd has changed a lot since then. So unfortunately I need a new one...whomp! I am buying my dosage book online too. Found it for $15 cheaper. But the fundamental one I guess I will wait since I can't buy in bundle anywhere that's cheaper than Valencia. At least I haven't found one yet. Maybe I will get lucky! Lol
