I was wondering if any of you guys will be starting nursing school at Valencia summer 2014. I'm really nervous. I don't know anyone that's currently in nursing school nor anyone who will be starting. Also, could any of the previous nursing l students give any ideas about what to expect.
RNtobe556 I just finished the asepsis chapter. It is ALOT of reading. But I took your advice & read all the skill boxes, etc. It really helped going into the chapter questions.
TyoungRN7 -> yes the clinical handbook is babylike. Pocketsized. Congrats on getting through the dosage book already! That's awesome!
Oh yes, we've already started. Hardcore as well. Its already a shortened semester & add to it that we were given an entire book to cover on our own & 15 chapters in another! LOL.... the first day is going to be CRAZY!

I just wanted to make sure because I'm getting my books from Barnes and nobles (new of course) and not the bookstore. They are so much cheaper. I just got my textbook today so I will start tomorrow in that book, take notes, and answer the questions at the end including the workbook. We have 11 chapters to read correct: chapters 31, 33, 26, 9, 15, 29, 30, 11-14
Congratulations on beginning nursing school! Currently in the program as well and just want to remind you guys to take advantage of the nursing lab staff that will be made available to you once you begin if you need help or clarification on the material. There are Learning Assistants that are all Nursing students who have all been where you are right now. So we understand how overwhelming it feels. Best of luck and we'll see you in May! :)
Hey everyone! I am also beginning in May! I am so ready, a little nervous but excited too! I am currently studying the dosage as they advised. I plan on working one day a week, in order to fully devote myself to pursuing my dream. Best of luck to you all and hopefully we will meet in class =)

So should have taken advantage of all our resources this semester!
It's very overwhelming overall especially at the beginning because there was a lot relating to the classwork that I didn't understand. Definitely have had to work hard with my time management and it's a constant struggle to find the time to study and balance having a family. Also tests were not like anything I had ever taken so learning to work through questions and think critically is something I am working on. But overall, I wouldn't change the experience for anything. I've made great friends who are now part of my study group and that's been very valuable.

Im jealous. I already work from home but I work for the state and they don't offer anything other than full time 8-5 so I have already given them my notice
