  1. I'm a nursing student at Valencia as well and I had a question about nursing 2. I just passed nursing 1 and now heading to nursing 2. What advice can you give about being successful in nursing 2? I've heard a lot of people say if you barely pass nursing 1 you won't pass nursing 2. Any advice would be great.
  2. It has been rough. Information overload. I'm stressed bc our first test and first dosage quiz is on May 21 and our first SSD is the next day. How do you study for 17 chapters on 1 test then turn around and complete a SSD. I sent you a private message but how's it going with you.
  3. I just wanted to make sure because I'm getting my books from Barnes and nobles (new of course) and not the bookstore. They are so much cheaper. I just got my textbook today so I will start tomorrow in that book, take notes, and answer the questions at the end including the workbook. We have 11 chapters to read correct: chapters 31, 33, 26, 9, 15, 29, 30, 11-14
  4. Im jealous. I already work from home but I work for the state and they don't offer anything other than full time 8-5 so I have already given them my notice
  5. I was planning on ordering the fundamentals of success today. My textbook should be here today so I will start working in it. I've been really working in the dosage calculation book in the meantime and I'm currently on chapter 14 of 18 so I'm almost done with that. I worked a few on the dosage practice questions and was getting them correct so that's enlightening. Even though we start in May I feel like we've already started
  6. Is your fundamentals clinical handbook really small (smaller than a normal textbook)
  7. I've heard a lot of people say hospitals aren't hiring nurses with an asn. I start this summer and I'm nervous. Given that you have graduated, what advise can you offer to be successful in the program. I've heard a lot of people also say nursing ll is harder than nursing l because nursing l is like an intro to nursing.

  9. We can absolutely study together and I'm definitely going to make flash cards of those definitions as well. It's going to be a lot of work but I think as long as we put in a lot of work we will be successful.
  10. I live in altamonte springs near the mall (off Palm Springs). I had found the book at Barnes and nobles for $162 and it said the retail was $201. I think I may call them to make sure the access code comes with it and I will go ahead a buy it myself. I'm a lot like you. I have to make flash cards and write down what I read. I learn better hands on. Thanks a lot. I'll let you know when I get the book and we can still compare notes. I'm gonna also try to get the workbook as well.
  11. If you don't mind me asking, how much was the fundamentals of nursing book?
  12. When I went into the bookstore they had only 1 textbook left (the main book) and the girl in front of me took it. When she went to check out, the bookstore worker told her they were advised to only sell the dosage books because they may change textbooks and if she buys it she can't get her money back so she told them she didn't want it. I was planning on buying all of my books on amazon.com anyway because I'm not using financial aid and the books are cheaper there than at the bookstore so I'm still buying the book but at least if they change it I can send it back to amazon. Also in regards to the readings, a lady told me to first look at the chapter and write down all definitions. Then answer the questions at the end of the chapter and the corresponding chapter in the workbook. I'm gonna try it and see how it goes.
  13. I have started working on dosage. It has 18 chapters and they said to work in it cover to cover so I'm working that first as one of the instructors told me dosage is a make or break type of thing. If time permits, I will then read the chapters. I didn't buy the book because the bookstore had sold out and they may also change the textbook (according to the person who worked in the bookstore).
  14. That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure. It was really overwhelming but I think we will be ok. I'm starting in the dosage book tomorrow.
  15. I sent them an email to let them know I don't have access to the secure nursing website. I still don't have the nursing section under the students tab so hopefully they will figure out why before we register. I do have a question. Are we suppose to get those white nursing shoes or any white leather shoe will suffice?
