VA license and insurance in botox

I have recently started working in a Dermatology office and I will be trained in laser hair removal. I am interested in getting certified in Botox injections. Any info on state license requirements for RN's giving Botox injections? Or any info on insurance?

You need to check directly with your state board as each state sets its own laws. There is specific insurance available for this. One compnay that comes to mind is Marine Insurance. They handle alot of the micro-pigmentation nurses.

Hi - just read your post. I am an RN in Massachusetts and in the process of opening a "skin care shop" so I have been doing research along the same lines as you. I have not yet sent in my application but I think I found an insurance carrier I will most likely go with their web site is http://www.alliedhealth.net. GOOD LUCK!

Hi, thanks so much for you reply. I'd love to hear more about your "shop." Sounds very interesting. I'm hoping to gain experience with a doctor. I have heard it is very difficult to go out on your own, but also very difficult to work with a physican.

Are you currently certified? I have been looking at attending aesthetic enhancement institute. Any thoughts.

Are there any nurses out there who run their own skin care/asthetics clinic? I'd be interested to know how one would go about specializing in that area. Any info on this would be great. :rolleyes:

I wondered if you've found answers to your questions? I too am an RN in California. Does anyone know where to begin on how to have a "mobile botox" service? What licensing is required, business license, insurance, how much do you reimburse your licensing md? I have so many questions!

I have been contemplating getting botox certified as well..I just dont know how to begin after I get my cert!! I would love to be independent of a physician although I know I would have to be overseen by one..... Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Im in MD...
