UWOSH Accelerated Nursing May 2016 Cohort

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Published

Hi guys. Wanted to start a topic/thread for those applying into the May 2016 cohort, now that the application has opened. Has anyone else noticed on the application that the 2 recommendations are no longer required? Thought this was interesting.

As for me, I'm getting ready to take the TEAS V (Aug 1st) and finishing my CNA course next week with the state exam in August. I have a few months of CNA experience in a long term adult care facility and just got a job as a CNA at a local pediatric long term care facility, which I'm looking forward to since this is the area of nursing I hope to focus on after graduating (peds.) I graduated from the Univ of Pittsburgh back in 2001 with a dual BS in Psych and Business and did most of my post bach work in clinical psych (inpatient, outpatient, step down, peds again..) Applied and was accepted to PA school back in 2002 but decided that being a PA wasn't exactly what I wanted to do so waited, got married, had kids yada yada. Here I am, mid 30s, 2 young boys, applying into UWOSH. How about you? Say hi and introduce yourself so we can get to know one another during this ride. :) :)

Not exactly sure yet. Maybe APNP down the road. I work in the OR currently and wouldn't mind being an OR nurse :) my interview went well I think! How about you? What's your story?

You work in the OR as a CNA?

I live in Oregon. I've always been interested in medicine but when the medical social work route. Working in hospice renewed my interest in nursing, which brings me here. My end goal is FNP.

Yes, the actual title is OR Aide. Awesome for you though. Hopefully good news in the upcoming weeks!

Baiseyb, hi and welcome! I too almost went the PA route although that was over 10 years ago now.

I'm currently a pediatric CNA, and peds has always been my medical interest. I'm very interested in CRPNP in the end. :)

Great to be hearing from a new face/name!

That's cool! I didn't realize they had OR Aides. Are yo present for a variety of surgeries or just certain ones, like ortho?

Has everyone who's interviewed, particularly those in Nov, received an email survey from the school?

Yes, I received it the next day. It's short, only a few questions. Did you receive yours snwbal?

I haven't received one yet. I know Aje mentioned she got her about a week after, which is why I was curious about the people who took their's a little bit later.

I double checked when I received mine. I had my interview on Oct 28 th and the email with the survey came Nov 2.

Never got the survey either!

Rgorski,

How did your interview go? Did they mention when they thought they may make decisions? Just wondered since I think you were the last in this group to interview.

I interviewed the 29th and received my survey Nov 2nd as well.

How did everyone's interview go from last week? I've been out of the loop--we were out of town!

Back to reality of checking UWOSH emails and this forum constantly. ;) Shouldn't be too much longer now.....

Not sure about you guys, but all these daily mass UWOSH emails are killing me! :whistling: :dead: :nailbiting: :)
