UWORLD 2018

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi guys im gonna take my Nclex RN exam probably Mid august and i've been using Uworld as my primary study source. Ive seen a lot of tet takers that passed using It and accdg to them they answer 75-100 questions a day. I currently work as an LVN in a nursing facility full time and on my off days i can only answer maximum 50 questions. I answer 25 qd first, read the rationale then i relax and answer another set of 25s again. Reading the rationales takes me too long coz i write down notes of some things i wanna remember. On work days i only answer 25 qs after work and that's just what works for me. If i do 75-100 qs i get a headache because i have to read the rationales afterwards. Dont get me wrong i have no problem answering lots of qs but i wanna be able to read the explanations for all of em. Are there any nurses here that studied this way????

Did u passed? What's your study plan like?? i dont answer 100q a day and im scared

I just took my NCLEX yesterday so I havent got my results yet. I got the good pop up but I wont get excited until I see my official results. Not to scare you but I thought the NCLEX was difficult. I used Uworld doing 50 to 75 questions a day then the 2 weeks before, I was doing about 75 questions twice a day. I got shut off at 75 questions and I walked out feeling like I didnt even study and not confident at all. An hour after, I did the PVT and got the good pop up. I felt like that when I took my NCLEX PN and I honestly just think there is no "real" way to prepare for this exam...thats just me though.

any advice for future test takers mslayt? background info like your uworld scores, length of study, assessment score other resources and insight on why you "felt" that way. Was it the wording, or the fact that there was no distinguishably answers etc.... Thanks.

With UWorld, I shared it with 2 other classmates. One of my classmates was nice enough to share it with us. So I cant tell you anything about the assessment scores. My UWorld scores ranged from 50% to 65% on the 75 question tests. I purchased the pretest and posttest on NCLEX Mastery RN for $20. The pretest, I got a 71% chance of passing NCLEX and postest I got 82% chance. The rationals on the mastery isnt as good as UWorld but I took them to get an idea if I would pass NCLEX or not.

I took the NCLEX PN 4 years ago. I used just the Saunders book and used the software to do questions. Took the NCLEX PN and felt the same way - I felt like everything I studied for was not on the NCLEX and there was not one question where I was like YES that is the answer!! Got cut off at the minimum (85 qs). Left feeling like I failed. I did the PVT (which is a bit different than what it is now. DIdnt have to put in a CC number) and got the good pop up. 4 days later, I checked my state's licensing website and my license number was next to my name. I passed.

NCLEX RN - I got questions on medications and diseases that Ive never heard of before. I just had to take an educated guess. There was maybe a few questions that I felt confident with but I still left the test site feeling not confident and that I had failed. I got cut off at 75 questions meaning that I either did very well or very poorly. I felt the same way I felt with the PN, not confident and just sad!! I did the PVT an hour later, got the good pop up. Ive been checking randomly and still getting the good pop up. But still waiting for my official results.

Hello! I just want to put an update, I took the exam last week and passed the nclex RN. Keep doing UWORLD and try to finish it. I studied for 4weeks, the first 2weeks I read Saunders and La Charity, 2nd to the last week I just kept doing questions from uworld and read each rationale. Good luck to everyone that's testing!

Congratulations! Yeah i have 900 plus more questions left on uworld & been answering questions since april. And to be honest im not paying attention to scores anymore. I still get 40% sometimes whenever i answer 30 items but im making sure im reading all the rationales. Nclex is random and i just need to do my best.

I take mine next Tuesday I'm using hurst and uworld. I'm watching all the videos and have been doing practice questions as much as possible! Hoping enough!

Keep us updated here please.

Just to let you know, my license was issued today. I passed and PVT works

heyeyyyyy congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!
