I promised myself that I would post my experience with UWorld for the ANCC FNP (family nurse practitioner) exam after I took my boards- so here it goes. I did not find many reviews of the UWorld FNP question bank prior to purchasing it. However, I LOVED UWorld for NCLEX so I decided to give it a try for the FNP exam. I have to say..... I 100% recommend it! While the questions are (very) hard and (very) long (almost 3-4 sentences per question)- the rationales make up for it. I felt so prepared going into my exam. I studied UWorld questions (roughly 50/day and then 100/day for 3 days before the exam) for 3 weeks and I felt confident going into my exam. I took boards 5/5/2023.
Honestly, it is much more than a question bank. I read every rationale- and by the end- it felt like I had participated in a comprehensive review. Although the price for the question bank is a little more expensive than others, again, you will NOT need a review course if you decide to do UWorld because the rationales are THAT good so it makes up for it.
I would also like to note that I studied Leik throughout my NP Program. I did two Leik exams during my 3-week study period, but I really did not like the questions as they are very broad and non-specific. Though the questions on the actual exam were much shorter and straightforward than UWorld, I found it easier to select the correct answer because I was so used to the long, difficult questions on UWorld.
If you are considering UWorld for your FNP exam.... DO IT! Skip the $600 reviews!
Additionally, my overall score on the question bank after 3 weeks was 71%. I started out scoring 60-65% but it gradually increased. By the final week of studying, my average for the tests increased to 75-78%.

thank you so much!! I've been using UWorld during the last semester of FNP school and found their questions and rationales as amazing as for the NCLEX-RN ones. Nevertheless, I was feeling anxious and thinking if I should purchase extra materials or a review, since there were not many reviews of the World FNP bank available. In addition, my school provided us with ROSH Review questions and I found them harder than UWorld with worse rationales, I did not like it... So your comment made me feel so much better! I'm planning on taking the ANCC FNP exam in the next month and now feel more confident and happy about purchasing UWorld!

Thanks for confirming about UWorld. I credit UWorld for helping me pass NCLEX . If it wasn't for them, I'd probably still be trying to pass. ?
I went through their free "FNP questionbank preview" and I liked what I saw. However, I just wasn't sure if this was something I should use or not. I'll be taking the ANCC-FNP exam next year, so at least now I know it is a worthwhile investment.
Thanks for the review and Congratulations!

I am scoring 69% on average on UWorld FNP, I did 82 percent and I feel its not that good, should I take exam in in a week or should I wait? Tell me about your experience. Thank you
I've passed my ANCC exam today! UWorld was indeed an amazing tool, the only area of improvement I see is adding theory/research questions for the ANCC exam, although the ones I got were very straightforward. Other than that, I also feel like my program prepared us well and could've passed without any review... but doing practice questions always helps!
Congratulations! That's an amazing accomplishment....for future readers....what were your scores on practice questions in your first pass through with how many questions used, etc?
I scored 75% the first time I did all the questions (which was throughout the last semester of the program as a study tool). I got 85% this last week and I did all of them, about 200 questions/day. After I finished the bank I did go over and re-did all the questions I had wrong until I had them right.
I feel like doing that many questions a day also helped me be used to it when taking the exam. I finished the exam in about 2.5h, because the questions felt really short and there were no long rationales to read afterwards!

I am considering trying UWorld FNP questions for ANCC board prep! How many questions does UWorld provide? I have been scoring in the 70s on the leik questions.
UWorld provides 1014 questions to practice from.
