Anyone out there applying to the UW Oshkosh Online Accelerated program? I applied and am excited to hear if I got in! I'm worried about the expense and intensity, but at 40 years old I don't want to waste any time getting to that BSN, which is my ultimate goal. I live in Wisconsin but 3 hours from Oshkosh so it won't be a quick commute for the on-campus weeks.
Just hoping to connect with other applicants while we cross our fingers and wait!
Hello RN2BNWI, I just wanted to say hello and ask how is being in the program going? I am praying that I am in this upcoming cohort. I am excited and the same time nervous. Do you know the number of students accepted for the May cohort? Anyway, prayfully I will come to know you better as a nursing student at UWOSH.Happy New Year!
It's going really well, we are coming into what i call the 'final push' so it's going to be a lot more clinicals and craziness but i am really, really glad i did the program. Good luck to you both.
Hello!! I check my email that often as well!! Its almost addicting now. I have been working as a CNA for a while now, love it, but can't wait to take that next step to becoming an RN! I was really nervous because I had known someone who in a previous cohort already found out, but it is nice to know that I am not the only one in the same boat. I hope, just the same as you, that maybe we may have met someone that will be in the same cohort in May!! Let's keep our fingers crossed for each other!!!
Well we're in January, so if anything this month is the month. I am trying not to stress. I am praying that I am in. I will keep you in my prayers as well. Hopefully we will know something soon. Like rn2bnwi said there are still more interviews, so maybe in two weeks or so we should know something. I too have been working as a CNA for about 2 years now. All we can do is pray and wait.
Thank you, it is a sad issue going on over there. It brought tears to my eyes and continues to do so. We just have to count our blessings that we are here and alive. I wish so badly that I was a nurse during the past few days. I would have gone to Haiti definately. I am praying for us both.
The most we can do right now is monetary support. That is the best thing I can do right now and at least I know I am helping somehow. Just think what we can do in the future if we can get into this program and the impact we can make later on! We might not be able to do much now, but the future is endless for us. Let me know as soon as you hear something!! If you want my email so we can chat further, just send me a private message. I don't like posting my osh email on here! :-)
I saw that the new application was posted, so I called the admissions office and then I called the nursing office. They are running very behind I was told and no one has been notified either way yet. They are hoping to let everyone know by email, late next week. They are finalizing the cohort early in the week. I hope this helps. I know it took some stress off me a bit to know this little bit of information. Good luck to everyone and lets all keep our fingers crossed.

No. I had my phone interview on Dec. 4th and have not heard anything yet. Like you I am nervously waiting. I check email everyday twice or even three times a day. I feel that my interview went well and that I may have a good chance getting into the May cohort. Well, all that we can do is wait. Do you have your CNA Liscense? Good luck to all who is applying for the May cohort, hopefully we will be classmates!
Have a Happy New Year!
