I am applying the the University of Washington BSN program, starting in Fall 2017. I was curious how everyone's' applications process is going? Have you submitted your applications yet, what are your healthcare, and volunteer experiences? Do you feel prepared for nursing school? Why are you interested in the UW? Do you have any questions about your application?
I am just starting my application for the UW nursing program, starting in fall of 2017. I am an Emergency Dept. Tech. I really enjoy it, but I definitely want to learn how to be a better and more reactive caregiver, and I think nursing provides an excellent pathway to learn and develop great care giving skills.
Right now there's only information regarding the ABSN application, but the information regarding not being admitted is generally the same.
Also, if you're hoping that page would provide updates on the current admissions process, you'll be pretty disappointed. I'll do my best to update this thread with any information I can provide!
The application says April 14th, however she said during announcements at the essay that it could be as late as the end of April. Did others hear that as well?
Yes, I also heard her say it might be as late as the end of April, given the unprecedented number of applicants this year (and it is great that the committee reviews each application so thoroughly, even if it means waiting longer!). I think there's still a chance we could hear by April 14th, because that was the also stated on the invite to the proctored exam, when the # of remaining applicants was already known. I've mentally resigned myself not to think too much about it until the end of April, but I am certainly excited and hopeful for the pending decision! If anyone has heard an update about the timeframe, thanks for chiming in!
I believe by email. I received an email directing me to create a UW NetID account because admissions correspondence goes through emails with a University of Washington .edu address.
That's true! We call our ABSN Admits to inform them of our decision, mostly because there are only 48. For the BSN, we'll be emailing all of our admissions decisions.
