Hi, Did you end up going thru this program? If so, how was it? I have applied so am wondering what to expect. Thanks!

Got the email. Sadly I didn't make the cut. Not even the waitlist. Disappointment is an understatement. Congrats to all who made it in!!

My 7 year old son kissed me and told me this morning that he was crossing his fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes for good luck!! 😂 Spreading all that good luck (& some comic relief!) to us all today! ðŸ™

The application says April 14th, however she said during announcements at the essay that it could be as late as the end of April. Did others hear that as well?

Yea, I have similar issues with the community college route. Every other program I would need to retake a few or almost all of my pre-reqs to meet their program requirements. I got my CNA about a year and a half ago specifically for that reason, because I was originally trying to apply to Seattle Central. I wanted to go there because they moved their program very close to my house, plus they choose applicants based on first come, first served basis!! However, I soon realized I would have to retake ALL my pre-reqs except 1 to meet their requirements, which is not ideal, to say the least. At this point I'm holding off making any serious moves towards applying elsewhere until we find out. It feels like an eternity since Feb 22nd. The waiting is painful. I've been picking up extra work, scheduling appointments for my kids, volunteering as much as I can and obsessively cleaning to fill up my time! It helps to stay busy I have found. Deep breaths. Time will pass and soon we will know whether we want to or not!

Yea, it's all a waiting game from here. I've read threads from years past where students were feeling terrible post essay. Posting that their essay was repetitive, that they missed math questions and they ran out of time. A month later in the thread the same people were posting that they got in!! The essay is just one piece of our application. Yes, maybe the essay was weak, but if your application was strong it will balance out. We all just need to take deep breaths and try to put it on the back burner for the next 7-9 weeks! (easier said than done!!) And believe me, I'm saying this as much for myself as for everyone else! I need these reminders too. :) That is why we all signed on to this forum. To support each other through this intense application process, and hopefully, to extend that support into the nursing program as fellow students!!

@tle00041 Don't beat yourself up because of one mistake on the test. We are still students and not expected to be perfect. One mistake does not mean you are not qualified! To me, it shows how deeply you care and how seriously you take the responsibility! I feel like this means you are actually MORE qualified, because that level of ethics is what it takes! Don't give up. If you don't make it this time try again, or try a different program. Remember, "do your best and no regrets"!

Ok, phew, I got the same for the first 2 math problems. Honestly can't remember what I got for the third!! Maybe I did better than I think. Also, it was pretty cool that out of all the seats in the place I sat next to @phredmeister !

I am totally unsure how I did. The math was a bummer because I studied everything except IV drip!! I know I got the first one right, but the other two, not so confident. As far as the essay goes... I felt solid about my opening and closing paragraphs. I don't think I gave specific enough examples and I remember writing two sentences that, at the time, I thought were good and in hindsight sounded pretty biased. I remember listening to the online info session and she said, if we have to guess what you meant, we will go with someone else. I don't know. We will see in 2 months. Where did you hear 250 taking essay? All I heard was when she said 611 originally applied! We should all feel proud that we made it to the essay, and to those that didn't it gives context on how tremendously competitive it was this year!!

@phredmeister thanks for that! I am a non traditional student as well, at 43, post BA and lots (I mean lots) of life experience. I agree and have read that the most important part is to follow all the directions and make sure to answer every part of the question, as well. It's great to get input from someone who's been there! For me, the biggest part will be remembering to stay calm while I'm there. Connecting on this forum has helped quell some of that anxiety. I hope to call you and everyone on this form my nursing colleagues too! Good luck!

I know!! I feel the same way! Spell check and auto correct has weakened my spelling skills! lol. My anxiety is really ramping up for tomorrow's essay, too. Trying to not give into it (the anxiety), but the knowledge of what this hour will determine weighs heavy on me....

Hi Everyone! So glad to join, rather than simply read everyone else's posts! I received and invite to write the proctored essay and, like everyone else, am feeling super nervous! I've been reading past years posts for the past few days and it has helped me get a sense of what to expect. Does anyone know if they are still using math/conversion questions? I had heard they weren't.
