Hey guys !
I'm applying and I'm really nervous, but excited to start my nursing program soon. Anyone else applying to UW?
The admissions blog on UW's website has not been updated concerning letters being sent. I hope that doesn't mean they haven't mailed decisions :? Last year's pool of applicants heard back late march. I wonder why they're taking so long this year.
Has anyone received anything? If no one minds me asking, what are your plans if a rejection letter (which I'm hopping no one gets) comes your way?
Rococo,
If I don't get accepted I will stay here in rainy, beautiful Ketchikan, Alaska with my wonderful friends and partner. I will apply for the ASN program here, due July 1, but program doesn't start until January 2016. There are 8 seats and usually around 18 apply. They have a points system and I've got a pretty high score.
I will most likely reapply for the 2016 year at UW since I will have only completed one semester of the ASN program at that point. I would finish with a BSN one semester later than the ASN program so I'd totally take the opportunity to transfer.
I will be happy with either outcome at this point. There are pros and cons to both options. Like living away from my partner for 1-2 years if I go to UW.
I'll definitely be happy to finally know where I'm going to be living in a few months; that's been the hardest part. Our lease is up on my house and we're waiting to find out whether I'm going to Washington before looking for another rental.
Fortunately, I know quite a few people in Seattle since Ketchikanites flock there for some fun or to get back to city life after living in the boondocks on an isolated island!
Good luck everyone and may the odds be ever in your favor!
