Uw & Wsu Bsn Applicants 2009

I am a long time reader of the boards. I am applying to both UW and WSU (yakima campus) BSN program and am trying get feedback from past applicants on competitiveness of the matriculation process - tips on interviews or any other general information.

nope... that's all I know, too... I check the SON admissions blog obsessively for updates (there's a link to it on the SON Prospective student's homepage in case you weren't aware of it) and there's nothing new since January 26th. They are reviewing all the apps now, I guess, deciding who to invite to write the essay... writing the essay seems like a callback for an audition to me! lol.

yes.. the admission blog link is a compulsive thing for me as well. I check it in the morning, evening... and a few times in between. Common sense tells me it hasn't been updated between 10pm and 5am.. but yet I have hope and continue to check - just to be sure....

I know... the anticipation is killin' me! :(

It's hard to believe that in 2 quarters (Spring and Summer), I'll finally be done with pre reqs!

I thought they would never end!

arggh I had really anticipated something to be posted or emailed today - pretty disappointed to hear nothing ;)

Can I ask how many hours of health care exp you built up? I was just getting the minimum in that area... sadly ~

I've been at my current job for almost 8 years now...but I'm not licensed... (not an MA or CNA) my clinic does give on the job training though for some clinical skills.

I was anticipating something too... *sigh* it's just about a week now, though... not too much longer.

Hey just a quick little tip for you compulsive admissions blog checkers, there is somewhere on the website where you can sign up for instant emails whenever they update the blog!

What worries me is the application said emails will be sent out by 15 February (Sunday...) as an invite for a 18 February (Wednesday) essay.. I'd love to have a bit more notice so I will continue checking online!

Yeah, definitely, I know what you mean. I think they should give more notice than three days to prepare for the essay. Good luck!

Amen to that! I'm on the distro list too...but well... yeah. Plus, I have an exam and a lab in chemistry that I would have to miss, so a little lead time to make arrangements might be nice too! *sigh*

UW has had this date of Wednesday, 2/18 posted on their website and on the application for months (I began the app in October...). From listening to the podcast, as 90% of applicants are considered competitive, I just assumed I would be invited and made sure this date was wide open. Can't really prepare for an essay you don't know the question to. Just show up and do your best! ;)

I'm sure everyone has seen the update that emails will be sent out by Friday the 13th...no less ;)
