UTSW Nurse Residency July 2023

Greetings!

I am creating this post for those planning on applying for the UTSW Nurse Residency Program that will start July 2023. Feel free to chat, connect, or ask questions. Good luck to everyone! 

Are there any other out-of-state people here planning on applying to UTSW? I wonder how many applications they get every cohort.

Yes! I will starting residency in July.

Have you done onboarding stuff yet(Background check, I-9, etc)? I haven't received any update after the offer...

Occupational health called me in March and told me to upload vaccination record and made an appointment for health screening. When did you accept an offer?

I accepted the offer in early April ? I did set up an appointment with Occupational Health but that was it.. did u get an email regarding background check or reference upload?

No, I haven't heard anything besides occupational health appointment. I thought they are going to do the backgroud check during that appointment.

When you received an email that you got these interviews, were they in 2 separate emails? I got an interview for acute medical but I also applied to specialty units so I'm wondering if I'll have the opportunity to interview with both.

Yes, you can have interview with up to three different untis (med-surg, speciality units, ambulatory)
