Hello. I'm currently completing my BN at UTS in Sydney. I plan to move back to the States and I'm open on where I settle. Can anyone one help me with what I should focus on or extra courses to take to assist with registration. Also if I work as a AIN (assistant in nursing) will this be counted as work experience in America??

Not sure but do you know what state you want to move to? If so, I would look into their Board of Nursing requirements for licensure.

No working as an AIN will not be counted as work experience.

Moved to the International Nursing forum
Suggest a good read on the Nurse Registration forum, we usually see Australian nurses post difficulty in meeting state requirements as generally Obstetrics isn't covered and hours both clinically and theory need to be done and difficult in Australia to do

If you are a foreign nurse and you want to work in the U.S. temporarily, you may be able to obtain an H-1B visa. An H-1B is a very popular temporary work visa for foreign nationals who have a job offer from a U.S. employer to work in a "specialty occupation."
To obtain an H-1B visa for a foreign nurse, the U.S. employers would file an I-129 petitionwith United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This agency decides whether or not to approve the employer's request for H-1B status for the worker.
Your prospective employer would need to demonstrate that your nursing position is a specialty occupation. USCIS uses a four-pronged test to determine whether a positionqualifies as a specialty occupation.
Alternatively if Australian citizen and they gain experience there is the option for E3 which is not to be confused with EB3
