UTMB Tradtional BSN Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone. I’m starting this thread to see how everyone’s status is going with their applications. I applied for Spring 2020 traditional BSN on 02/01/19. My transcripts were verified today 02/15/20. Does anyone know when I’ll receive the supplemental application?

@Tanith Tracy PerkinsHonestly, I have no clue... my interview is not until the 20th because I live in San Marcos (currently going to Texas State) and I have finals on the 13th, 14th, and the 15th. I think that if I get into their program then I will just complete it and then do my bridge to my BSN with UTMB online.

I think I may do the same, I really don’t want to though. UTMB is my first choice so I’m really in a bit of a conundrum here. I was hoping by some miracle they’ll have yes or no’s out by Mid June. I’m curious if ANYONE has received a yes or no for Sping 20 yet ??

Good luck with your interview! let me know how it went and what kind of questions they asked. I'm pretty nervous

So I had a question. I went to NursingCAS and clicked on the “update application” button because I wanted to update my transcript entry to reflect the class grades I received in the classes I just finished this past semester. I also sent NursingCAS and UTMB my final transcript. So, I just wanted to make sure that wouldn’t mess up the date I actually submitted my application. Like make it seem I just submitted it today becuz I updated it today? Might be a stupid question lol but i Just wanted to make sure. Ok thank you!!

No, updating your app is normal. If you go to the “check status” page, it should still say the correct date.

Has anyone received any word on anything in regard to interviews or admission? Feels like I’ve been waiting forever now! I’m sure it’s just that I’m nervous but I’m not even sure what I should be on the look out for.

I believe they have stopped doing interviews. For Fall 2019 they did not do interviews and I believe I heard they are going to continue on that trend. I think we are just waiting for admission decisions which from what I’ve calculated should come out mid July I believe! But we shall see.

Hey does UTMB require us to send in High School transcripts?

Does anyone know how many applications they received for Spring 2020? I was hoping since the application was due so early there might night be as many applying. I just got my last Science GPA grade A, and you are not able to update the application once it is submitted. So I am going off the same stats as I had last application period.

I was scrolling through the forum and just saw this comment. I’m not sure whether they will consider the grades or not but I finished up 5 classes for the spring semester in May and I was able to go in and update my app and I sent my final transcript to UTMB and NursingCAS. Since I sent it in and updated after the deadline I’m not sure whether it will even be considered but I got A’s in all the classes and figured it was still early enough in the reviewing process that they might consider it. Did someone tell you that your not able to update app after it’s submitted?

i emailed Chelsea Jones (works in UTMB nursing department) reguarding this and she told me once the application is submitted it cannot be updated. she said if you’re accepted, then you’ll need to update with transcripts.

Ahh I see. Hm I’ve just been hitting that “update application” button in NursingCAS and uploading stuff lol. Well what’s done is done hopefully it doesn’t affect me.

The sad part is you don't get credit for a higher GPA from class taken this semester because the Spring App is due so early. My only hope is that not many apply because the app was due so early and they do not realize it till after the deadline.
