UTMB Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

I received my email yesterday for an interview! I called today and scheduled my interview for Thursday at 10 am to get it out of the way! A little nervous and surprised I was even being emailed because of my gpa! Hoping all goes good for everyone!

Also, what do you wear to an interview? I've never had one before. Thank you!

Professional outfit

Can you elaborate? I've never had an interview before.

I wore Calvin Klein suit. I think the more professional more they think u r very serious about the interview.

I wore black slacks, a white button-down blouse, a black blazer and black high heeled boots. I also straightened my hair and pulled it back away from my face with minimal makeup. Do what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

I wore a black suit- tailored black slacks (I have ankle tattoos and I didn't want to worry about having to put make up on them or bandaids), off-white top, and fitted jacket with black heels. I made sure my heels were not super high and I was comfortable walking in them. I also wore a pearl necklace with pearl studs, wedding ring, and watch, and muted make-up (no heavy eyeshadow and no bright lipstick).

I'm not sure it matters all that much either. Congrats on your interview invitation by the way.

Congratulations to all that have received a request for an interview! ! Yay!

Attire for an the interview should be professional. I wore black slacks, a nice blouse, and I actually carried my black suit coat over my arm because it is so hot! I chose not to wear heels (I wore nice dress black flats). You will have a light walk from the parking garage to the building. It's not like you are hiking or anything like that, but I do still recommend wearing comfortable (but still nice and professional) shoes.

Best of luck to all of you!

Whoops, my previous reply posted twice....deleted second entry

I know a Facebook group will be started, but I'm anxious to meet some of y'all who have been accepted!! Anyone interested in connecting on Facebook?

I might be one of the only students who has no social media, so I won't be meeting any of y'all until orientation right before school starts. I say the day of orientation if there's time we post on this thread where to meet, just to meet each other
