UTMB Spring 2016

Howdy! I couldn't find a thread for Spring 2016, so I figured I would start my own. I'm having trouble with this whole application thing (mostly stress!), so I would love to talk to others going through this same process!

What was your teas and gpa?

I was just accepted yesterday I had my interview on 7/20 and I sent in my NCAS May 31st.

I have a BS in PSYC with a gpa of 3.6

Nursing courses gpa 3.7

Science gpa 3.5

TEAS 86% and 89.9% on science

They tell me the same thing evey time lol. Process is still going on and if I get accepted they will notify me.

well is UTMB the only school you are applying to? End of this month is a lot of deadlines for nursing school applications I think.

Did anyone get accepted with a teas score in the low 70s? I made a 73 and am a bit paranoid now with all the students scoring in the 80s.

I know someone that got wait listed for the fall with acceptance into spring that made a 71 on the teas. I think if everything about your application is strong you still have a good chance.

I scored a 96 overall and I'm still not admitted so...

Well, from what I have been told by them, the GPA is the least thing they consider, GPA and personal statement (that includes experience), and the interview, are more important than the TEAS score.

And, if you have a TEAS score that they don't think is competitive and they really like you as a candidate, they just ask you to re-take the test.

I think I have a better chance of TWU which is one of my top choices anyway (with UTHSC) because they give a bump for a previous degree and look strongly at the TEAS.
