UTMB Spring/Summer 2019

Published

Hi I know it's a few months early, but have anyone started getting their application/essay ready to apply to UTMB for 2019? Lol I'm nervous looking at blogs from previous years. I'm also scared to take the TEAS. I plan on applying for Summer 2019.

Have any of y'all received the letter in the mail?

Anyone else checking their MyStar several times a day?. I have to keep reminding myself it's only been a week since I interviewed, lol.

I just check allnurses everyday haha

I don't have kids but I have a husband. I plan on living on the island and seeing him on weekends.

Not ideal but I want this so bad...if I get in.

I have two dogs and a boyfriend. If I get accepted I'm probably taking out 25k in loans.

I have 4 kids but at this point they are very acclimated to mom going to school. It's our way of life now so they understand when I have to study. I will be commuting to the island and stay over when needed. Many clinical are off the island so that's great. It is challenging with kids and all their stuff, but very doable. I am thankful to have a great family support system that is behind me and helps any way they can. God is good and keeps me going!

Hello everyone,

I had my interview last week, and like most of your said, the process is very relaxed! We spoke for nearly 2 hours!

Overall the questions are all the same.

Why do you want to be a nurse?

What was one thing that contributed to you knowing you wanted to be a nurse?

What study habits will make you successful in this fast paced program?

Name a time that you were in a group dynamic were one of your partners did not do what they were suppose to, and how did you handle it?

Who is your support system?

Make sure you ask lots of questions. I was told that there are about 50 spots available in this round of interviews so we have a good chance of being accepted!

Also, I don't think we will hear anything back until 3 weeks from Thursday (the last day of interviews this round).

Most importantly, be yourself!

Hi, JT94! Who was your interviewer?! Mine lasted just over an hour. She was very sweet and easy to talk to. I hope we hear something soon!

Hey @occir1, I interviewed with Carol Glaze last Wednesday! She teaches Adult 1 and Pathophysiology. What about you?

I had her too! She is the best! I'm so glad she put me at ease with everything and answered all my questions so thoroughly.

She's amazing! I'm glad that she was my interviewer. What did she tell you in regards to how many people they are accepting? She told me about 50 people will make it this round.

She didn't say but she told me I should hear back within 4 weeks of my interview, which was week! She had a great and warm personality and she really made me feel so positively about UTMB. She did tell me, though, that there are around 130 that get accepted for Spring! Were you an applicant for Fall 2018?
