UTMB Spring/Summer 2019

Published

Hi I know it's a few months early, but have anyone started getting their application/essay ready to apply to UTMB for 2019? Lol I'm nervous looking at blogs from previous years. I'm also scared to take the TEAS. I plan on applying for Summer 2019.

Oh that is good! I need to do that also. I'm sorting out all my vaccinations right now and am getting titers on Wednesday.

I am with you on that! Our situations sound similar, I plan to save save save and then stop working once school starts.

I'm so excited too! So relieving!!

Ohh ok makes sense!

What are titers?

But yes sooo relieving!

A titer is a test performed to determine if you have the antibodies in your system after having the immunizations. If you don't have the antibodies you have to get the vaccination again then redo the titer to make sure you have the antibodies.

Oh wow, I feel like that as a future nurse I should know that lol! Good to know! Maybe I'll do that as well!

I'm guessing that can be done at a doctors?

I got all my shots under the age of like 3 so I might need it.

Has anyone else been accepted?

I just did my interview yesterday. The admissions advisor told me it would be about 4-5 weeks for an admission decision, and my interviewer told me it could be as soon as 3 weeks. So seems like everyone is hearing different things, lets hope it's sooner than later! One of the things I'm worried about is whether I want to live in Galveston or Houston (closer to the school or closer to the clinical sites) what are yall potentially planning on doing if you were to go?

I hope the interview went well!

I definitely plan to live in Galveston just because I'd like to be close to campus since you have to be there more times per week than clinical sites.

I would call your doctor and see if they have record of any of the required immunizations, and if not, see if they can order the titers for you to have done. I got record of my immunizations from my high school because that is what my doctors office recommended since I got vaccines at different places.

On the UTMB website it says that some clinical sites require you to have the titers done plus the record of vaccinations. It would be best if you had both the records and tigers done!

Hey yall! Congrats to those who are hearing back. Where does the email come from?

[email protected] ??

Best of luck to everyone!
