UTMB Spring 2015 Applicants

Hey Y'all,

I read through the whole UTMB Fall 2014 thread and thought I'd start the next semesters thread (because I couldn't find one). I know the application doesn't close until May 31st, but thought it would be helpful to start this now.

I got an interview invite and I go on Monday. Has anyone gone for an interview already? If so, what did they ask?

They ask how you plan to deal with the rigorous nursing course load, what you would do if you found you were failing a class, and just other general things. Be ready to pick out the most important part of your personal statement that you would like to be passed on. Uhhhhh, I can't remember any other specifics, but the questions they asked weren't horrible. You'll do fine!

For those of you who have yet to be interviewed:

I had my interview on Monday with Professor Alton and think it went well! She was super nice and friendly. She literally had a sheet of standard questions they have to ask and a lot of y'all have already covered them. I was also asked if i would be commuting or living on the island and what type of study habits i have.Just take all of the advice on this discussion and you will be golden, I promise.

Anybody else living in northwest Houston plan on commuting if you get in?

Spring scholarships won't be available until October or November is what I was told.

Does anyone know if the interviewers are a part of the Admission Committee?

I am not sure if the professor who interviewed me was Admission Committee because I was interviewed on a Monday, and I was accepted the next day.

I JUST moved from Austin to Galveston. Oopsie. You just missed me, haha. If you're near Galveston anytime soon, though, I'm always up for meeting another Austinite.

For people who still waiting to get in, get your immunizations done while you are still waiting. So you won't delay your admission process when you do get accepted. Good luck to those who got an interview and to those who are still waiting!
