UTMB Fall 2018

Published

Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

My stats are

TEAS:

82% Overall

-Reading: 85.1%

-Math: 87.5%

-Science: 78.7%

-English and Language Use: 75.0%

GPA: 3.9 Overall

Does anyone know how many people they accept typically each semester?

I believe it is 120!

I interviewed at the end of February and got offered a second interview last week because they felt as though they ran out of time to ask me a few questions. Like I mentioned earlier, I had kind of noticed that my first interviewer didn't write much down. I ended up doing the interview yesterday via phone because I wasn't able to drive back to Galveston, and I was told I'd hear back in 2-3 weeks. Just thought I'd let y'all know so that you know they're still making decisions and to hang in there for a few more weeks!

If it helps y'all, there's 90 people on the Facebook page as of now

Also yesterday I was told there would be 130

Yeah I thought that there would be 130! I've seen pictures they have posted and they all say the incoming class of 130. Also that means there are a possible 40 spot still available!! It's getting close!! Stay positive

When i interviewed she told me they usually have more spots than 130 but we were talking about retention

Do ya'll think that if you haven't heard anything at all from them by now, it's likely that we won't hear back at all? I'm not sure what the process looks like normally. I haven't been contacted for an interview or anything so does anyone know if that is still possible?

I am in the same boat and I am not really sure how they are doing these "acceptance/denial waves" because it seems to be unpredictable. I noticed a lot of people saying they heard back on either Tuesdays or Fridays but it seems to have been a longer period of time since the last "wave." However, someone said that they haven't gotten through all the applications yet so there is still a small chance that they are not done with interviews as well.

Eventually everyone will get an answer. They still have some applications to go through and they are very busy at this time. The school is going through finals and graduations. So I'm sure within the next couple of weeks we will know! Don't give up hope yet guys!

I think we will hear back. But probably get waitlisted. Did you apply for the spring?

Hopefully we'll hear something this Tuesday because it's been too long since they last sent any news

They'll always send an answer! I've applied twice before and the second time I didn't hear back for a while but they'll always send you a decision.
