UTMB Fall 2018

Published

Hey! I wanted to make this post because I didn't see a thread for those who are applying to UTMB Galveston Fall 2018. I know application hasn't open yet, but I just took my teas score. I have no idea if it is good enough for UTMB standards. I currently have 40 hours, but by the end of this semester I will have around 53 credit hours. I have no idea how I should even start my personal statement. Would you guys be willing to share your stats? Any questions or comments please feel free to post! :)

My stats are

TEAS:

82% Overall

-Reading: 85.1%

-Math: 87.5%

-Science: 78.7%

-English and Language Use: 75.0%

GPA: 3.9 Overall

You'll get an email! Has your application been verified?

No, I don't think so. On that status tab it only says complete and arrived for the transcripts. My transcript only arrived like 3 days ago (I had accidentally sent them to utmb not ncas) so I'm hoping this is why.

How long did it take yours to get verified?

Anyone here take classes at Wharton County Junior College? They are taking forever to send my transcript! Ugh

if y'all dont mind sharing, what did y'all get on your teas? and do y'all know like what the average score is of accepted students or something like that? i'm stressed

I know online it says 60%+ but I heard that they will suggest you to retake if you didn't make a 70% in any subject.

My teas 84.7

Reading 73%

Math 94%

Science 92%

English 79%

I submitted it on 1/7 and it got verified 1/10 which was really quick! I was surprised because I've read the past forums and it usually takes a while to get verified

I made a 72% overall but got a 54% in English so I am retaking it on Monday and then emailing my new scores. I was told that as long as I re-took the test by the end of the month, and passed all sections, I could submit my new test scores. I have seen in other posts that people have been accepted with overall TEAS scores in the 70 percentiles.

I haven't received my app either. I'm not applying to any other place :/ I live in Houston. My gpa just isn't strong to compete here in the med center. It's a 3.3 :| . I'm hoping my high science teas score will help and the fact that I've worked since i was 15. I've been a full time employer and student for a long time. Idk if having an associates helps at all.

I want to retake too because my score is not as competitive either did you talk to someone from utmb about letting you retake?

Yes, I called and asked. I wanted to be sure before submitted if it was possible and to my relief it was.
