UTMB Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

Yes I got the same email. ahhhhh its all just nerve-wracking and I am anxious to find out already.

I checked everything. I'm concerned because I called yesterday to ask some questions about Spring applications and my retested TEAS scores I sent for this application cycle hadn't been put in from my understanding and then today I miss this email.. Mrs. Botello seem very surprised when she asked a few more questions so we started looking more into my file. I got an email for an interview and got the interview done. I just don't want to miss anything important. I still have a green circle on my mystar so that's still good. She did say yesterday I should be hearing back in the next few weeks so here's hoping next week is my week to be accepted. I turned in my resignation for work today which was a big step for me. First time in 10 years to decline a public school teaching contract. I just hope I didn't decline for no reason.

Maybe bc you've already had an interview. I haven't been interviewed. Not sure about anyone else who recieved the email. Please don't sweat it. I'm sure it's gonna all make sense soon. Trust me, I'm staying positive and praying I'm in the next round of interviews.

This entire messages board has been my sanity saver through this process. I genuinely appreciate everyone's positivity and helping each other stay grounded and rallying when one of us starts to panic. Truly it gives me such happy feelings to know there are people who care so much about others. Kindness goes a long way and it's a characteristic of a great nurse!

This is interesting because both you and I interviewed around the same time and thought we would hear back last week. It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one. I did send Mrs. Botello an email tonight so if I hear back from her I'll let you know what she had to say. Maybe they'll admit us so we'll just leave them alone :roflmao:!

I got the email & it made me even more annoyed since I've already interviewed. I'm hoping that those of y'all who haven't had interviews hear back soon to get one scheduled! I know we all desperately want answers at this point

I emailed her yesterday and this is what she said:

"Good Morning,

Thank you for your continued interest in UTMB School of Nursing!

Updates will come out as decisions are made. At the present time we are still interviewing and should have decisions out in the next 3-4 weeks, please monitor your email."

I bet that's like an automated message:cry:

I sincerely hope it will be next week that they come out. I'm thinking it will because they sent out some last week and we know they've been sending them out about every two weeks to this point. It would make sense and follow the pattern.

I got a response! So I emailed last night just to ask why some got the email and some did not. Her exact response is pasted below.

Yes, that is the correct email we have on file for you, but you recently interviewed and our committee hasn't met yet to give a decisions. Those that received an email had either interviewed several weeks ago or have not yet interviewed. Not all emails that go to one applicant will be sent to another.

Please monitor your emails for the next couple of weeks as decisions will be made for those that have interviewed.

That's what it's all about. Helping and hoping for the best for one another. Seeing everyone get in makes me just that much more excited because I know someone is one step closer to their dreams. Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone. I need some good news soon.
