UTMB FALL 2015

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone! I think it's finally time for someone to start a fall thread so here it goes. I am applying to UTHSC and UTMB for fall semester. I gave my teas test today and idk if that score is good enough or not. My GPA is 4.0 and teas individual score is 81. How did everyone else do in their test?

Do you guys know if the Supplemental application is due on January 15 as well? I'll be submitting my NCAS application tonight and was hoping if I would have enough time to get everything sent. Also, I sent my transcripts about a week ago but still havent heard anything, may it be because I still havent submitted my NCAS application?

Supplemental isn't due by jan 15 only NursingCAS app. They usually give about 2-3wks after deadline to get supplemental apps out. You get the supplemental about a day or so after you submit. As long as you have proof your transcripts were sent before the deadline then you are good, they still will verify them and notify you of receipt even if it's after the deadline.

Oh thank goodness! I was worrying so much about whether everything would make it or not, thanks for the information!

Also, I was wondering if my TEAS score is competitive enough?

I made a 84.7 overall on the exam but the English and Languate Usage section dragged me down so much...

I made a 92.9 on Reading, 93.3 on Mathematics, 89.6 on Science, and a 60 on English/Language usage :(

Do you think my score on the other sections will balance out the English score?

Nope your good, you score is competitive! I didn't even do that well myself except for in reading. I talked to an advisor today to see if I still have a chance with my score and she said that students that had even in the 60s as an overall still were accepted. They don't just look at your TEAS score, it's gpa and personal statement. Lol that made me feel better about my chances at least.

Okay then, Thanks so much for the help! Hopefully we get accepted!

Hi,

Your scores are competitive. I'm a student at UTMB (was accepted to UTMB and UTHealth but decided on UTMB), and my TEAS score was lower than yours. UTMB does look at the whole person. Your personal statement is something that is looked at a lot.

Best of luck!

I am almost positive that you have to have 4 sciences complete to be eligible.

Hi all,

Here are some of my dates just to help out other people:

11/30- NursingCAS application/2 transcripts verified/TEAS scores

12/12- Supplemental application received and verified by UTMB

12/15- MYSTAR information received (ALL APPLICATION IS COMPLETE)

12/16- Admission board began reviewing my application

I have worked very hard and anxious to get this process going.

Good luck to everyone! :)

Hey everyone!

I figured I'd join the convo since I just submitted my application yesterday. I am excited, but very nervous. Does anyone know where to find your calculated GPA on NursingCAS 3.0? Thank you :)

Not sure if there is one on the NursingCAS system. I just found a GPA calculator online and used that to get an idea. You may be able to call or email them and ask if all your transcripts are in and have been verified.

Hi guys! My name is Haley Gregory and I am also applying for the Fall of 2015.

I just talked to UTMB over the phone, and she told me as long as you have SUBMITTED your NursingCAS application by Jan 15th and at least requested your transcripts be sent to NursingCAS you should be fine! They will give you about 2-3 weeks to have transcripts received. So, in general the deadline is for people who have not yet sent in there application.

Oh, and here are my stats if you guys are curious:

Overall GPA: 4.0

Science GPA: 4.0

Hesi: 86%

TEAS: 69% (Only had 4 days to study, and ran out of time in math ): )

Thanks Haley! I was able to talk to someone today as well and got the same answer. Puts my mind a little more at ease. Congrats on your gpa's! I think mine are both around the 3.6 range and I got an 80 on Teas. Best of luck to us all!
