UTMB FALL 2015
I hate that the application process is taking longer than usual this semester. I just want to know where I'll be going and end of April/early May seems too long, but I know I need to be patient! Good luck to everyone.

UTMB FALL 2015
UTMB actually does their own GPA calculation. The GPA you are seeing on NCAS is your NCAS GPA. If you retake a class, UTMB will use the higher grade for your prereq and science GPA. However, your overall is just going to be every class you've ever taken (prereq or not) calculated into one GPA. I called a while ago and that is what they told me. I hope they start reviewing these Fall apps soon. I am getting anxious over here waiting.

UTMB FALL 2015
No problem. I am in the same boat as you. UTMB is the only school I applied to, so I'm really hoping I have a chance. One of my friends had a 3.5 GPA and 87 on her TEAS and the other one had a 3.3 overall and 81 on her TEAS, so that gives me some hope. :) I don't know about the 3rd friend. I think her stats were high all around. It really depends on the applicant pool each semester, and I'm praying to God that everything will work out in the end. Remember that your personal statement is very important as well, so it should help you out. I will be graduating with a Bachelors degree in May, but like I said, I don't think they really look at that too much. I wouldn't retake the TEAS for now if I were you because I think they've already received your score and a 71 is really not too bad. They have had people with TEAS scores in the 60s get accepted.

UTMB FALL 2015
@Mr.Nurse0913 I know 3 of my friends who are currently a part of UTMB's BSN program and none of them had a previous Bachelors degree when they applied. I believe the majority of students won't have a previous Bachelors degree. Also, if anything, I think being a guy might increase your chances of getting accepted. For your GPA, they will take every class you have ever taken into consideration (including classes from a community college).

UTMB FALL 2015
I am thinking about being considered for summer since I have all of my prereqs completed, but I'm not sure yet. I'll be graduating this May with my bachelors degree and I was really hoping for a little break before nursing school. I also need to save some money before I begin! It is a great opportunity though, and I feel like it would definitely increase my chances of getting in. Plus, who doesn't wanna graduate early?! I sure do. Here is the e-mail if anyone needs it: Would you like to get an early start on your nursing career? The UTMB School of Nursing is expanding the number of admissions for summer 2015. If you will have completed your prerequisites by May 1, 2015 and would like to be considered for summer 2015 as well as fall 2015, please contact Liz Botello at [email protected]. If you have any questions, please call or email us. Our main office number is 409/772-8272. We hope you may be able to use this opportunity to start your career a semester earlier. You will need to contact our office by 1/30/2015 if you want to be considered for admissions to the summer 2015 program. Dorothy Pearrow Asst. Dean, Admissions and Student Affairs UTMB School of Nursing [email protected]

UTMB FALL 2015
I was told that for retakes they will take your higher grade and calculate that into your PREREQ GPA. However, they calculate every grade into your OVERALL GPA (including your first grade). It says on the website that they look at 3 GPA's for admission: overall, prereq, and science GPA.
