  1. Just got an email yesterday that I've been accepted! I was on the waitlist, and after the castle branch deadline on June 15 in seems they made some space for waitlisted people.
  2. With those stats I would apply to an ADN degree, both ADN and LPN are nurses but ADN is already RN level, the pay will be higher. LPN is good too but I believe it is more suited for those who have not yet completed the prereqs for an ADN/RN program. With ADN youll be one step closer to BSN which you can do online, while with LPN you have more steps to go through.
  3. Hello all, I'm currently in need of some advice as I'm at a crossroads where to go in my life. I have been accepted to an ADN school for Nursing as well as a Bachelors in Respiratory care for another, I have struggled with nursing in the past as this would be my 2nd time taking it. Student loans are catching up to me and I just want get a bachelor's asap, so if I do ADN I would for sure go into BSN after. I also know that if i get the bachelors in RT I can get a good job at a reputable hospital immediately after graduation as compared to (most likely) a smaller hospital with the ADN degree My question is would a Bachelors in RT give more opportunity or a associates in Nursing? I am perfectly fine with both, please help! Maybe some Pros/Cons of both. I live in Houston btw, and there are PLENTY of opportunities for both jobs here
  4. Thank you, hoping there's some spaces left for us that were waitlisted
  5. has anyone on the alternate list heard anything from hcc about their status or about an Alternate orientation?
  6. How do we know if we were selected as an alternate?
  7. If I havent received any emails regarding acceptance or waitlist should I already expect rejection? My profile on myUTH still is a green circle that says "complete"...
  8. Do you think I should just give up on nursing entirely and pursue another major? Ive been looking into respiratory care as well, but I'm afraid my record with nursing will hurt my chances with admission to a respiratory program as well
  9. Hi all, My path in nursing school has indeed been a shaky one, I have just failed my second semester with 2 D's, and I'm on the verge of being dismissed from my University. I had previously appealed to remain in the program after repeating 2 courses as well in the first semester so I was already hanging on by a thread. I believe I was well qualified for the school with a 3.5 gpa coming in and a 85 on the TEAS entrance exam, but I believe I was too immature to take Nursing school seriously enough with how difficult it is. I realize that I had the opportunity but didnt seize my opportunity to succeed. My question is what are my options now that I have fallen down this deep hole? Should I apply to another BSN program? should I apply to a community college and do a ADN program and then RN to BSN? Will other schools even accept me now that I have been dismissed from my BSN program?? I'm just so lost right now
  10. For those that got accepted, were you emailed about your acceptance or is it somewhere in the myStar?
  11. Okay then, Thanks so much for the help! Hopefully we get accepted!
  12. Also, I was wondering if my TEAS score is competitive enough? I made a 84.7 overall on the exam but the English and Languate Usage section dragged me down so much... I made a 92.9 on Reading, 93.3 on Mathematics, 89.6 on Science, and a 60 on English/Language usage Do you think my score on the other sections will balance out the English score?
  13. Oh thank goodness! I was worrying so much about whether everything would make it or not, thanks for the information!
  14. Do you guys know if the Supplemental application is due on January 15 as well? I'll be submitting my NCAS application tonight and was hoping if I would have enough time to get everything sent. Also, I sent my transcripts about a week ago but still havent heard anything, may it be because I still havent submitted my NCAS application?
