UTMB FALL 2014

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time.So, how is everyone else doing?

I just recieved my denial letter.

I interviewed 3/21 and was notified of my denial via email today at 3. It came up as a bit of a shock because I was told I was guaranteed a spot in the program. I came this far and then was straight up rejected. It hurts. But it's life and I will try again. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting. I hope you guys don't have to go through what I'm going through.

Who guaranteed that you'd get in?

Thank you everyone for being supporting. I was told by the instructor who interviewed me that I was perfect fit for the program and she clearly told me that I was getting in. But I understand she is not part of the committee. She is a very sweet and caring lady so she is not to blame. She did her part on recommending me so I'm glad she supported me. Everything happens for a reason but I guess now was not my time. I will reapply in hopes to get in for spring. I won't give up. I wish you guys all the best!!

@ua1217 Wow I'm sorry to hear that. That's so frustrating. I'm worried now. It sounds like I had the same lady as you because she told me the same things as you! I also have not heard anything back since my interview date 3/14.

That may not be a bad think if the people that interviewed us don't make the final decisions.

There was at least one person in this thread who did say their interviewer was on the admission committee though.

I had a friend who interviewed at utmb (accepted and graduated already) that said their interviewer acted as though they did not want to be there, and at the end of the interviewer just concluded with a "bye" and they parted ways. My friend thought the interview went terribly, but they got accepted anyway. The interview seems to be just another part in what they look at overall since it seems as though getting a good write-up by your interviewer doesn't mean you will get accepted (and vice versa).

I didn't mean to make you guys feel depressed and scared and what not. Don't worry you guys! It's not the end of the world. If you did not receive a denial letter today then that seems like good news! Stay positive and don't worry!! It'll take me some time to get over it but in the end I will be okay and who knows? I might even meet some of you guys in the Spring
