I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?
Hey guys, I am new to this thread and just wanted to wish everyone good luck. I am also applying to the UTMB fall 2014 program and hope I have what it takes to make it. I had requested my transcript to be sent to NCAS back in December and then found out on January 13 that the college I go to never sent it, so I have been a nervous wreck! Luckily I had the transcript FedEx priority shipping and it got there on the 14th just in time. Does anyone know about how it will take before we start finding out whether or not we have been accepted?
Here's the timeline that's on UTMB website
1. App Verified/GPA Calculated on NCAS
2. App is ES to UTMB
3. UTMB sends supplemental App
4. When Supp App is completed and UTMB has your TEAS V scores You will get email with MYSTAR info
5. Then goes to Enrollment Services to be prepared for review and decision - 4-6 WEEKS
I completed the Supp App today and hoping MYSTAR comes in fairly quickly, then hoping to hear something at the earliest mid March to early April.
Mine are also! I only have one left to be received. I noticed it takes them a couple days for the transcripts to be marked as "received" on NCAS even after theyve been received. I shipped all of them on the same days so I'm crossing my fingers they're up soon so I can get the GPA calculations also :))) Good luck with yours @lhletran!
Have people already been accepted into Fall 2014 cohert? If so, how can we find out how many spots are left??
Yes people were already accepted in the first wave they did for early admissions. How to know how many spots are left I have no idea other than to call UTMB and ask if they'll be able to give that information out. But I think UTMB would be the most accurate source to finding out.

I'm not worried about having to explain my drops because the cause is so significant that it became a strength/turn a negative thing that happened into positive fuel to make my fire grow stronger. I've spoken to other nursing schools admissions offices before when deciding which was right for me and when I explain what happened to me they always say "wow". It's not something I talk about with pride at all or talk about at all but rather I look at it, like the saying goes, it's just a scar to show that I was and am stronger than the things that tried to beat me.
Things happen and nobody is perfect. I know I'm certainly not. And after speaking to alumni and staff from UTMB I'm glad they take into account a human factor / life happens when you're making plans. The information session I went to the 3 student ambassadors themselves, 2 were wait listed and one was denied and they told their stories and none of them were perfect.
All I can do is hope and definitely pray for the best. I've accomplished a lot taking the road I took and helped a lot of people who needed it along the way. I'd be more than happy to go into detail and explain anything asked of me.
There is nothing we can do now I suppose but sit and check our status and worry, but when it all comes down to it, I'm proud of myself for making it this far. I think anyone should be, making it this far isn't always easy. And any bump in the road you hit only helped make you a better you and potentially a better nurse no matter what nursing school you graduate from. Because if UTMB accepts you or not, (and I pray they accept us all!) if you really want to be a nurse you'll do whatever it takes to make that dream come true.
