I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?
Hello everyone!
I have also applied to the Fall 2014 program for UTMB.
I have two transcripts that are supposed to be received by NCAS and one of them has been...but not the other and it's the 15th!
Is that okay? Or will they throw my app out because the 2nd transcript has not yet been received?

When did you submit your transcripts to NursingCAS? Have you submitted your application to UTMB though NursingCAS yet? You might want to call NursingCAS and UTMB admissions or student services to make.
But it's the very first sentence of my paper! T_T
Well I've seen you post the rest of your stats and they are really good. Searching through all nurses and seeing the past semesters and past years of who was accepted and who wasn't it definitely all depends on who you're up against for that term and I guess who you are as a person as you explain yourself in your statment and that they see that because I've read 4.0 GPA's, LVN background, 89 on the TEAS not get in, and 3.0 GPA's, no nursing experience background, 74 or 71 on the TEAS who DO get in. You can't compare yourself to anyone else for this school because they don't go strictly off of numbers, and each applicant pool is different. Which is what I've been telling myself also so I don't stress over this any more because I literally cried for a few days over this. I've worked SO incredibly hard for this, I've been through so much and I just don't feel competitive sometimes, until the admissions coordinator gave me hope. I know how you feel obviously, because of my dumb "a". I had typed "becomes nurse" and meant to type "become a* nurse". I caught the "becomes" and changed it to "become" on the NursingCAS submission but never noticed the "a" no one I had checking the paper the first time noticed the "a" missing! Ugh... I had hit the "s" and ran it with the word "become" instead of typing "become" [space] a* nurse... UGH I feel SO dumb.... but you see! You're not alone! And again your stats are pretty good and if the paper as a whole is great and that is your only typo, I personally don't think it will matter a whole lot! And if you're a praying person, then now it's just time to sit and wait and pray.

There is a grace period that UTMB gives to applicants to have their transcripts processed in NCAS. I'm in the same boat as you, and I know there are several others on this thread as well.
I would make sure from square one that your school has actually sent the transcript first, THEN move onto making sure nursing CAS has it.
@Texas02, Thank you for the words of inspiration. I'm beating myself up just because it's the first thing they read. If it was anywhere else I wouldn't mind. But it just gives a bad initial impression right from the start. Anyway, I will take all of your words of advice and not think about it as much. Also, Yes, I have seen people with way better stats than me get denied. My emotions are on a roller coaster ride at the moment.
Do you happen to know how long the grace period is?
They just told me that as long as everything is received within a reasonable amount of time then it's okay. They understand that nursing CAS is jammed with hundreds of transcripts at the moment. I'm going to assume we have at least a couple weeks grace period? That's just my guess.
Whew, that's a relief.
Is it just me or does it feel like there's not as many applicants this Fall? I'm only saying this because I feel like this thread isn't as long as the Fall 2013 one. Also, has less people. But maybe more people are just reading the threads rather than commenting? haha

I love this!

Okay. Yeah, they have actually received mine since 12/18, but the GPA hasn't been processed.
