UTMB FALL 2014

Published

I would like to start a thread for UTMB FALL 2014 since there I cannot find one. I am in the process of applying and this is the only school I am applying to. Right now, I just trying to finish my personal statement before I can submit it. I am a bit nervous and excited at the same time. So, how is everyone else doing?

An I just called UTMB and they said is alright if you didn't put your full name cause it's attached to your application on NCAS (sorry for all the posts!!)

Don't be sorry! Good to know. I rather be sure than "I think" and it not be true.

Hey y'all! So I received my supplemental application yesterday, just a few hours after nursingcas had verified it. I received my mystar today, a little over 24 hours after I submitted my supplemental app. I thought I would post this as a reference to those who are looking for a timeline of step to next step, etc. Everything on my app is complete, so now just the waiting game.

I just submitted the supplemental application and got to add the "a" in to the personal statment there. Not feeling too bad about it any more. I also read that they look at content and everything else is grammatically correct. So now I'm just happy to be at this point. It's been a long time coming.

So you did get to add it? Do you know which personal statement they look at? The one on the NCAS or supplemental? I am asking because I didn't put a space behind one period in mine! So it looked like this: "The cat ran.It ran fast." Lol and I got so scared! I was thinking the worst, but now that I see I can correct it on supplemental application, it makes me feel better.

How long does it take for NCAS to calculate your GPA?

OH MY GOSH! I just realized I have a typo in the first sentence of my personal statement. I used the word "and" instead of "an." So, from what I've read in Bg123's post and quote from Texas02, we CAN edit it once we get the supplemental application??? Oh dear god I'm so nervous now.

Don't worry! Don't worry! Don't worry about 1 little typo in your statement! I emailed the admissions office and told them about my word "a", I had 3 people reading over that statement and another 2 going over their corrections omg I could so kick myself! But I received an email back telling me to not worry about one error/typo. She said they are looking more at the whole paper and a bigger concern would be a paper full of grammar issues. And I don't know which one they look at but I did put my "a" on the supplemental app.

Looking from AScibby86 timeline, it about 2 weeks. I hope to get mine soon.

How long did it take for transcripts to be marked as received? It will be two weeks (on Friday) since I've sent mine. I called nursingcas and they told me it takes a few days for it to reach them and an extra couple days for them to mark it as received. I'm nervous because I'd also have to wait for my GPA calculations too! :(

They told me 7 days cause mine aren't processed either so were on the same boat! But they said also there's a possibility they've received it but they just haven't gotten to it. I'd just keep calling to check cause this wait is killing me too

But it's the very first sentence of my paper! T_T

I think you'll be ok! It would be kind of ridiculous for them to not consider you because of one mistake. I agree with Texas02 on looking at the paper as a whole!

Okay, thank you a bunch! That made me feel a lot better.
