UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

Nope. Nada :/ You?

Does anyone remember when you took the TEAS, did you pick "register for TEAS" or "register for TEAS at PSI?" Gotta retake the TEAS again, lucky me.

I registered for the TEAS through PSI because I applied to another school that required the test be taken at a PSI testing center. If I remember correctly, UTMB does not require the test be taken at a PSI center. If you are applying to multiple schools check their requirements as well. Good luck taking the test again!

Donna I'm actually in the process of applying to Chamberlain! HBU wanted 9 hours of Christianity and I just don't have anymore motivation to put in toward regular school...I'm ready to start Nursing school! So I have to ask....did everything transfer ok for you?

Thanks

Yes, everything is transferred through Chamberlain except they did not accept my philosophy class, and I had two philosophy classes in college. I have to retake a philosophy course at Chamberlain and I do not like philosophy at all. Besides, they ask us in our Nursing curriculum one business class, and I had two business class from 2 different school still I have to retake the business again. However, I changed my mind not to pursuit the BSN at Chamberlain. Instead, I got accepted into Coleman which is a community college that I got all my credit. The philosophy class just drive me crazy, and they ask me to take the sociology class. Out of my 77 credits that I earned for my Associate degree, Chamberlain took just 47 credit. The requirement to be graduated with BSN from Chamberlain is 129 credits, so it is going to be a lot of pressure for me for the next two years both in the schedule and the financial. I hope these information of mine help you, feel free to ask me anything related to the Chamberlain School of Nursing.

This may be a silly question, but do you think UTMB would call from an unknown or blocked number? Or would they just call from a regular (409) phone number?

I had a 3.2 and a 92% and got wait listed.

really!? no way! I have no idea what they're basing the acceptance on then...maybe the personal statement?

I don't think it would be blocked. If you have caller ID, it should say Galveston or something

Do you have a degree already?

Has anyone asked how many people are on the waitlist? Are they giving out that information?

When I went to Open House on 7/13, And asked, I was told it varies, it could be in the hundreds.

Totally not wanting to hear that. They've only taken 8 people off of the waitlist. I've made my peace with getting rejected haha
