UTMB Fall 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hello! I searched the site and seen no one made a topic about the people trying to enter in Fall 2013 so here is it  I am applying to UTMB for Fall 2013. I've written my personal statement and filled in the application. Now i'm waiting on nursing CAS to receive all my transcripts and to take my TEAS test on Jan. 8. I'm so nervous. How is everyone else coming along?

For those applying for the bsn program, does anyone know if you can take your prerequisites at a community college or is it preffered that they be taken at a 4 year university. And also, does utmb accept ap credit?

Yea they will take your AP class credit as long as you accept the hours at your university. You cant just directly transfer AP credit to utmb, they have to see that your community college/4 year university has accepted them as credit

So has your application been processed when NursingCAS shows information in the GPA calculation link, or is there more to it?

Hi! I'm also applying to UTMB fall 2013. I submitted the application back in Dec and sent final version of transcript to school in Jan. I was wondering if you can look your calculated GPA done by UTMB on your mystar? All what I see is a green circle, but I wanted to see if school got the transcript and my final GPA calculated by school. I contacted school, but not getting the answers I want. Any help would be appreciated!

Madallan, That just means it has been completed on NCAS and you met the application deadline. It does not mean UTMB has your app yet but it should be there soon. You still need to do the supplemental app when you get the information in the mail and make sure they have your TEAS scores. Then you get to wait hooray!

Kkai, I haven't seen anywhere to see the GPA calculated by UTMB. You may be able to contact enrollment services to find out though.

so who has recently taken their TEAS? it was really difficult to me. I've completed everything and now just got to sit here and wait, which will be a long ride!

Thanks, Bippy798! I guess our calculated GPA won't be updated on the mystar. I've been asking them, but I don't get clear answer from them. All what I have been told is to check the application status.

So ive had a couple really frustrating issues with nursing cas so I thought I'd share... having attended multiple locations within Lonestar college (actually all 6 of them. I didn't find it necessary to enter each one since my degree is from the Kingwood location. Well I was wrong. I had to enter each one and each semester that I attended. My application was rejected twice because it was so I complicated. Then my gpa was calculated at a 2.96- wrong! I called them to have it fixed but it hasn't been fixed yet. Hopefully it is fixed by the deadline. I wouldnt want utmb to process my app with the wrong gpa! Just sharing my experience!

wow thats crazy. i would call the college of nursing just in case its not fix by the deadline so they will know the situation and you wont be penalized because of it.

Yeah I will go ahead and call tomorrow. Will let you guys know what they say... Also, anybody sign up for open house next month?

For the bsn program, does utmb look at your volunteer experience and extracurricular activities?

What a mess kizzy04! I unfortunately also had a very long transcript with multiple colleges and it was a huge PITA! I am sure they will get it fixed over at UTMB.

I am thinking about going to the February open house. I am very interested in what financial aid has to say about different options.
