UTMB Fall 2012

Published

HI! I am applying for the traditional BSN program at UTMB that starts Fall 2012. I am taking my TEAS this friday and I wanted to know if anyone else here is applying for the same semester. Hopefully there are others so I don't have to be nervous alone!! :D

Hi guys, i just joined AN so i could participate in the harsh anxiety that everyone is dealing with.lol. I must say i never thought i would make it to this moment hoping to get in. Its been a long time coming. Anywho, good luck to everyone! I truly wish the best to you all! I will certainly be posting on here if i see or hear anything...while i try and keep it together.

It really is harsh anxiety. lol. I don't think that others realize how difficult it is to get into nursing school.

Yeah, i think maybe 5 or 10 years ago it was much easier. Ive tried to explain to friends and co-workers that the admissions process is evolving into a med school process. And there is no silver bullet. That coupled with poor grades that are coming back to haunt me from freshman and sophomore year.... its been tough:/ And im sure nearly everyone here feels that way to some degree.

Yes, I have tried to explain the process to friends and family and they don't get it. They think...you apply...you get in. I have several W's on my record that I am worried about. One minute I feel confident and then I read other posts about what "they have heard" and I get all freaked out. :)

Hi everyone!

I just thought I would pop in and say hello as well! :) I've been reading this forum for quite some time trying to figure out when I'd possibly hear something. All Nurses has been so great because I can talk to people who are in the same boat as me. I'm taking 21 hours this semester at A&M so I can get my Aggie ring, and I have been checking my emails like a crazy girl hoping for some relief this semester. I know that no matter what it will all work out the way it should, so try and take a deep breath! :) I wish you all the best of luck! :) You are all in my prayers! :)

Hope this helps some of y'all........ I called today and spoke to "somebody" about the emails for interviews. I know that the committee actually didn't meet again until Monday, the 27th. I was told by the assistant to the "Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions" that emails for the first round of interviews shouldn't go out till next week :( Booo..... Oh well! I guess that means I can stop stalking my email account looking for that coveted electronic invitation. But next week will suck! I am gonna pull my hair out just waiting ;) But I guess I need to keep the frame of mind that if it happens, it happens.... easier said than done... lol!

Nobody understands except those that are going through this process or those that have recently gone through this. But I must say that my wonderful husband has listened to my rants and raves, and has been SOOOO supportive :D I don't think I would be doing this without him ;)

Thanks for the info. Hemphia. I will still check my email constantly lol :)

Hey guys, I am a "roll over" from the Spring 2012 semester so I will be starting this Fall! Already accepted and everything. I look forward to seeing who else will be joining me!!!

How exactly does roll over work??

I got accpeted to the Spring 2012 semester but never received the email and lost my spot, they put me on the waiting list and on the first day of classes I received an email stating I could start that semester (someone didn't show up I guess and a spot became available). However, I live in Dallas and my dad had passed away exactly one month before I got the call so I talked to them and they agreed to let me start in the Fall instead because it was just too much all at once and it was going to be hard to move down there on such short notice.

So sorry about your father hgoff. I am glad that you will be starting soon! Do you know how the interview process works? So, do they pull the best applicants first and then the next go down from there for the second and third round interviews? Just curious...so I can obsess a little more.

Thanks, he was very sick so we are glad he is no longer suffering. I did the interview over a year ago so I'm not completely sure if the process is the same. I heard that they chose the order of the interviews randomly but I could be wrong. They gave me a time and day for my interview but when I got there I had to wait for well over an hour before I got called, it was very nerve wracking! When I finally got called back it got a lot better. The woman who interviewed me more just talked to me instead of interview. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable, unlike some of the other interviews I had been to. Don't worry too much about it, they're really just wanting to get know you on a more personal level so they can see if you'd be a good fit for their school. They don't want to admit people who may not complete the program.
