Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
THANKS!! =) and i thought i wouldn't get accepted because I thought I did bad on the interview.. Does UTMB notify us if we are missing any of the 60 hours of prerequisite courses?and ButterflyGarza are you planning to live on campus or rent an apartment?
When was ur interview? the 25th of March ? And I honestly don't know if they notify you. Do you have the list of pre-req's needed? And I don't know if on campus or apartment... Which is cheaper lol Do you know any prices for dorms?

last semester tuition was is in the 3700 range and it is supposed to be going up for fall. The cheapest option would be to live at the ferry road apartments, but they are small!! If you are renting an apartment the cheapest way is usually to find a roommate as one bedrooms go for around 500-600 but you can find a reasonable 2 bed for around 750-800. I would also look into houses those can be cheap also

Oh ok. Thanks!! :) I've been trying to search apartments but theyre all like 900 for a one bedroom...I knew there had to be cheaper ones lol And houses? Like do the owners rent you out a room or the whole house-How does it work?
There are a lot of apartments on the island.. price very much depending on location. Sometimes you can rent a condo cheaply- or even a beach house. Look outside the box.. There is something for everyone in Galveston. Also remember- Galveston is not a large city, so you don't need to be right next door to UTMB. You can literally be on the 'other' side of town and only be 10 minutes or so away. lol Island transportation is awesome too- if you don't like to drive.
Congratulations to those who got in.
