Hi everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for those who are applying to UTMB for Fall 2011. There are some really great (and long!) threads out there for Spring 2011 and earlier...but as I'm sure y'all know, the application process can change from cycle to cycle, plus it's just nice to have a new thread for us. :) So feel free to post questions, comments, or anything related to applications!
I'm applying as a second-degree student to UTMB, UTHSC, TWU (Houston), UT Arlington and A&M, plus maybe the new Texas State program. Whew! I keep hearing great things about UTMB so that might be my #1....
A question to start us off: so we can now use either the centralized NursingCAS application, or the application through UTMB, right? What are you all going to do? I'm thinking of just doing UTMB's direct application....if you do NursingCAS, I think you'll have to do a supplemental UTMB application+fee anyway, so you might as well just do it all once...thoughts?
tuppins : yeah, that was me. i talked to the assistant dean and she said if i do not receive a letter by mid april to let her know. congrats on your interview! i hope we are both starting in the fall. good luck!
I think they are interviewing around 30 people a week for about 4 - 5 weeks. I was told the acceptance letters would go out towards the end of April. ** ANYONE THAT HAS INTERVIEWED: HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE AT THE INTERVIEW? Thanks.
I still have not received any correspondence from UTMB mystar says that I have nothing to do on my to do list, so I guess all I have left to do is wait...my stats are good, so I guess it is just time to play the waiting game?

Pretty much. There are several of us still waiting that have pretty good stats, so welcome to the worry club.
I know I have no patience... but I still haven't gotten an interview yet. I don't think my GPA/ test scores are bad! I think they are considered competitive? I hope... are they sending you guys e-mails to your personal account or is there a UTMB account? If so, how do you access that? I was only given a username and password for the UTMB Pioneer Portal and even that is just to see if your mailing address is correct and to accept/ decline admission or to see if your application is complete. Right now, mine says complete. I'm worried that I haven't gotten an interview? haha
They sent my email to my personal account---I don't think we have a UTMB one yet (unlike TWU). And like I said in my last post, I got a phone call first (it was actually from an "UNKNOWN" number, but then I checked the voicemail and the number she left was for the UTMB SON). Anyway, not to drive you guys crazy with another thing to check, but it's probably a good idea to stay in touch with your voicemail just in case!
PAMQ--I think you're very competitive! And you mentioned Pioneer Portal...I only have a Mystar login. Are we supposed to have both??
i haven't gotten jack crap from them, unless you count the anxiety ulcer. i just thought i'd lighten the mood in here, and maybe it would be like a fortune cookie.... say it and it comes true?
