I applied o UTMB and still anxiously waiting for a letter for intervciew. has anyone heard anything about the fall 09 application. Has anyone gotten interviews yet?
Go for it, the more the better. It will help us get information out, ask questions, set up study groups, etc. Plus, facebook is better that other sites like MySpace. Not as many "kids" and less pervs/stalking!
Yes, the "myspace pervss and stalkers" were the reasons I stopped using social sites! lol I will make a FB though! :)
Hello!
We are in health assessment right now (which is a 6 week class...get ready!), then we will have an ILE training class 3-5 days I think. After ILE we will begin our clinicals. I am anxious about starting clinicals, but the health assessment class is helpful in preparing us.
I don't know how your program will be structured. I go to school monday 8-3:30 for patho/pharm and intro. to professional nursing. Tuesday we go for 1 hour for the health assessment lecture, and wednesday we have health assessment lab from 9-4. (some students have their lab on thursday, they make the decisions alphabetically). Right now we have classes 3 days a week, but that will change when we start clinicals. I don't know exactly what the differences are yet. When you get your syllabus, read it carefully! The classrooms might change from week to week, so you have be aware of that. lol.

wow, that sounds intense! but i think i would love to do it! is it because you are on the fast track that you have classes from 9-4 and 8-3:30? or is this the traditional bsn program?
I'm in the traditional BSN (meaning that I do not have a previous Bachelors degree or RN certification), but our program is a 15 month "fast track". We started classes on May 4, and our first semester ends somewhere around August 10. Our second semester begins September 1- December, third semester Jan.-May 2010, fourth semester May-Aug 2010. We get a 2-week break between semesters. I heard that the traditional BSN students in the 2 year program also had health assessment in 6 weeks, and I think both programs are set up to be very similar (it's technically the same program, you will just have summers off). Having the summer is a good advantage because you can do internships during the summer, or just have a really nice break. We get holidays off, of course, and I enjoyed my memorial day weekend!
Yeah, but i got my email tuesday... So i should wait another day?
I got my email Weds and eConnect was updated already. If you're not seeing it pop up when you click on your application status (instead of the normal "pending" screen with your transcripts and such), you might want to call enrollment services.
hi simpleone,
congrats all!!
i hope to attend utmb in the fall 2010 and will commute.
i'm planning to take patho at san jac in the fall. would you be so kind as to keep me posted as to how it's going for you? i've taken all of my pre req at lone star and i'm a little uncomfortable going to another school system for just one class but if the teacher is great and the class is well organized i will feel a little relieved :)

Sorry, I shut down that page 'cause it was a fan page and not a group page. This one will be better for us.
