UTMB BACC2 Spring 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I wanted to start a thread for those applying for UTMB's 2012 accelerated nursing program. The application is open April 1-July 15. I was told invites for interviews start after the application is closed and interviews start end July-August. Does anyone have any additional information? Has anyone applied before? Know of any interview questions? Please share everything you know!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone

Hello all,

What exactly are the pre-requisites to even be considered into this program? I have a bachelor of arts; therefore, I was not required to take too many sciences. The only sciences I took in college were Biology and Geology. My question is what sciences do I have to have already taken before being considered.

When is the open house? I currently live in Japan, but will be in the states over the summer to take some classes.

UTMB's website has all the information you need. This link takes you straight to the prereqs for the program...

Hi - I am starting the BACC2 program in Spring 2012. The Spring 2011 board is pretty helpful if you have time to go through all of the posts. We did have interviews in September last year and acceptance notices in October. Maybe they are going to start them a little earlier this time around which would be great.

Laura.c.j - the open houses are posted on the website. I think they're usually once a month around the middle of the month.

Greengold- did you already get accepted into the spring bacc2 program or are you in the 2011 start bacc2 now?

Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet?

Mag28 - Long story short, I am going to start in 2012, but was accepted to start with the 2011 group. I fell really ill and was in the hospital for a while and able to defer my enrollment while I got my health issues figured out. I am very grateful that they did that for me. I am super excited to get started. Hurry up January!

I take the TEAS this Friday 5/18! Wish me luck!

Greengold- that's awesome that utmb did that for you. Congrats on your acceptance! Did you feel like it were really competitive to get in? I've heard they look at all aspects of your application while some schools may strictly look at grades only.

Laura.c.j - good luck! Let us know how it goes. I take mine the 18th!

Thanks Mag28. Good luck to you too!

Has anyone submitted their app? I haven't received my login yet and its been wks. I emailed them and that email was forwarded to someone else, but still haven't received it yet. Just wondering if anyone got theirs...

Has anyone turned in their application? if so, did you get your login for your app?

thanks!!!

I turned in my application yesterday (Saturday) and took my TEAS this past Friday. I was super nervous but I'm pretty happy with how my score turned out. I studied for three weeks solid before I finally took the test! Just for everyone's information, the study guide that ATI published was definitely worth purchasing. It helped a lot and the review was fairly thorough.

All that's left is for me to send in my transcript, which I plan on doing this week. All I received was the email that said correspondence would be forthcoming in 3-5 business days so I am hoping to receive something next week. Is the correspondence going to include our login information?

Hi Mag28 - I feel like it was pretty competitive and that they did look at your whole application. It felt like the interview held a lot of weight in the acceptance decisions (to me...of course I do not know the magic that goes on behind the scenes in determining who they accept).
