UTMB BACC2 Spring 2012

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I wanted to start a thread for those applying for UTMB's 2012 accelerated nursing program. The application is open April 1-July 15. I was told invites for interviews start after the application is closed and interviews start end July-August. Does anyone have any additional information? Has anyone applied before? Know of any interview questions? Please share everything you know!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone

Kr, I talked to a financial aid advisor last week. The 130,000 is the max in overall education (college, grad, more school etc). The school will have a cap for the max amt you can take out in this case UTMB is 15k. This will give you enough to complete nursing school and not enough for everything else. You have to take out the federal loans mentioned above and/or private loans in order to live. The last part will based on your credit score.

DD - Good luck in wherever God takes you!

What about out of state tuition. 15K is less than half of what I need!

Does anyone know the address to the FB page. I can't find it. Should someone start a new one? (maybe label it UTMB SON BACC-2 2012)

It's a "closed" group, so I'm thinking that is why we are not able to find it.

Krmolina - I am thinking that would be a good place to get to know each other and possibly find roommates, etc when the time comes. (which may be soon if we can find $$)

ttnnc: What's your email address so I can send you the link?

Hi, I recently got into the program too!! I'm so excited and can't wait to start. Would anyone be interested in making a facebook group just for our program? I figure that would be a lot easier to communicate about housing or questions about the program. I'm going to go ahead and create the group its called: UTMB BACC2 Spring 2012

Yay! Can't wait to meet yall!!

I was accepted! I got the email early yesterday afternoon (interviewed a week before on Monday the 17th).

I can't wait to get started now! I definitely want to enjoy these last couple of months of freedom, but I'm also kind of anxious for January so we can get going.

Traci, can you send me the facebook link as well? My email address is richardwh at gmail dot com. And could you also PM it to krmolina and ttnncc? Some of us are having trouble finding the group the old fashioned way by searching on facebook (I haven't actually tried yet, but if it's both invite-only and private, it may not be searchable).

I also got the acceptance notice yesterday, so tomorrow I will be trying to figure out financing and all the costs that will be associated. I would like to get something narrowed down so that I know it will be paid for when I accept. Very stressful time. Exciting but stressful. So if anyone has any hints and helpful info - as I am moving from out of state - please let me know!

Congrats to all receiving acceptances!

Need help with financial planning for the year!

Has anyone done a budget/spreadsheet listing all your estimated costs, etc? I am attempting too but am not sure how much to list for some stuff, or what all to list! Any help would be appreciated!

Hey everyone! Been working hard at finding funding and I ran across some good news!

I spoke to someone with Financial Aid. She said we are eligible for 12,500 per academic year. So that means 6250 for spring, 6250 for summer and 12,500 for fall (since we won't be there in the spring they use it all for fall!). So that is 25,000!! BUT - we have to reapply for financial aid for the fall in the spring as the academic calendar ends at the end of summer session (make sense - I know I am a bit confused). So it is sounding a bit more promising! Off I go to do more budgeting, but I wanted to share the information I found out!!

Have a GREAT day!!

Sarah21063,

Thanks for the hint for Apartments Galveston. They seem nice. I will see what they get back to me with. Are you in the program now?
