Utica University - FNP Online Program

Updated:   Published

Hi My Fellow Nurses,

My name is Letisha, and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I am seeking an online Family NP Program. I know about Frontier, Downstate and Utica College. Does anyone have any reviews about Utica's online FNP program? I know it's a relatively new program. Any info is very much appreciated!

Hello All,

I am from Long Island, NY! I am scheduled to start Utica’s FNP August 2020. I am excited and nervous because there’s not a lot of reviews of the program. Current students can you provide some insight on the program? Any tips or suggestions to new students?

I would watch the how to do video's. You will be required to post videos, often and it took me some getting use to but once I started to learn how it became much easier. I have only completed two classes but so far love it. The teachers have been great so far, don't be afraid to ask questions. I also found people that I could text that are in the same classes. Learn Apa 7th edition, they are very strict with grading and writing assignments.

Hi there! I’m just completing my first class now, and yes we are required to do video presentations they are hard at first but then you get used to it. Also they are very strict on APA. You need the APA 7th ED book and I also used grammerly. Everything you post make sure to have a journal article and follow directions very closely.

I am starting my FNP in fall 2020 too, and Im from Brooklyn, NY. We should connect once semester starts. I’m awaiting for my course counselor to help me with the classes registry. Hopefully the class won’t be too bad once its start.

Hi all! Thank you so much from all the previous input about the FNP program! I’m starting in August 2020 and would love to hear more about how the classes are going. My email is [email protected] if anyone wants to connect (I know there are others who are starting this Summer also). If possible, can someone send the syllabus for the Quality Improvement class so I can see what to expect? Thank you!

Did anyone ever hear if Utica got their national certifications?

That would be great!

I don’t think you’re able to access the syllabus and course material until the Friday before classes start. We also don’t keep access to previous classes, so we lose all syllabuses and course content!

[email protected] is my email, please feel free to send questions about Utica, they are not accredited yet, I believe it is suppose to happen next Summer. I have completed four classes so far, I'm taking two classes a session but most people only take one, I'm hoping to graduate next December. The research class is hard, you need to read the book. Quality class is not bad, I would download the book and not buy paper back as this will help you with test in the class. Good luck to anyone starting the class.

Hi everyone

I am planning to apply FNP at Utica on January 2021. I am curious about FNP certification. Based on what I read on the UTICA website. It stated "The master's degree program in nursing and post APRN FNP certificate program at Utica College is pursing accreditation by the CCNE. Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted."

They have applied and nothing is 100% set in stone, they have to meet the specific requirements, from what I have been told we will not know until next Summer, they already have accreditation with their bachelor's program so I'm not worried about them not receiving there education but it is a risk
