I applied for the Fall 2008 Accelerated BSN program and am very excited to have an interview on April 10 - the letter just came in the mail today! Anyway, I wasn't able to find any recent threads for applicants applying for this year so wanted to see if there were any applicants out there.
I'm interested to hear from any current or former students in the program. Is this a good program? What are some of the pros and cons?
I currently live in Houston and prefer to stay if I am accepted to any of the 3 nursing schools here, but I would certainly not hesitate to relocate to SA for nursing school.
hello everyone!! I've been reading this thread for some time now (just never posted :sofahider)...AND....I received my acceptance letter today too and i am soo haaappy! :anpom: I think I've called everyone on my phone atleast twice to gush about how happy i am..now i'm off to post on myspace and facebook. oh yeah sooo does anyone know anything about the NURS 3209 Intro to Professional Nursing class that we're supposed to take? I'm guessing it's something that has to be done before school starts in the fall?
thanks and congrats to everyone that got accepted!!
just a thought...i don't think in all my life i have ever been soo excited to actually go to school as I am right now.
In fact, here's the schedule for the Fall:

As you can see, there are two sections for NURS 3209 and according to papers that came with our acceptance letter, one is a lecture and one is online. You can check off which one you prefer to take. By the way, we don't get to choose the times for our classes. We are automatically registered based on whatever the nursing school decides. Just a heads up...
So this summer I guess we also have to get the CPR certification. I had the hepatitis immunizations but since its been almost 8 years, I had to get a blood titer - $100. oh well.
So I'm redcross certified, is that good enough? If you haven't gotten the Hep B series started yet you won't get to participate in clinicals this fall and I know that's going to be held against you. I think once you have it, it's good for life right? Mine was 3 or 4 years ago.
