Hey guys!
So the application to start in the Fall of 2015 is due on February 1st. Really, that is right around the corner if you think about it!
Let this thread be dedicated to all hopefuls!
I still have to take the Teas V, but I did buy the study guide with 2 tests so hopefully that helps. My cumulative GPA will be 3.2ish and my pre-req GPA will be close to 4.0. I'm extremely anxious about getting in that is for sure!
My transcripts have been verified but it won't let me look at them on my phon . I have to wait until 2
Haha, I went back through the thread, seeing when you submitted yours. It looks like the 16th, right? I submitted mine on the 17th, so hopefully I'll get something tomorrow...? But hey, at least your transcripts have been verified finally! Did they send you an email saying they were verified or did you manually go and look at the status bar and see?
@noimnotamermaid, I submitted mine during that same week, but later during it. Maybe go to the schools that you're getting the transcripts from and makes sure they actually got them processed and sent out? I want to say it took me ~10 days from the time I requested the transcripts to the time I got an email from NursingCAS that they were received.
They sent me an email and yes, I submitted my application on the 16th. I'm home now but am currently nursing my son down for his nap. After this I'm going straight to my computer! Although I guess the nursing cas GPA doesn't really matter since the school recalculates it but I'm just so curious!
ETA: Ok so my overall GPA is 3.2 :) Not exactly sure how to calculate math science but it should be up there close to 4.0!
Oh gosh, now I have to go look back at mine because that'd be funny if we both had the same overall GPA.
Ok, nope it's 3.20 :)
I know the SON generates their own GPA, I wonder if we will get to know their version of our GPA... Like the math science GPA. What courses are included in just the math sci?
Well, what I did (and I kind of doubt this is how the school will do it, but I thought I'd give this a whirl to maybe get an idea) is to just take the GPAs listed for "mathematics" and "natural sciences" and average them out.
Over there, they've probably got this long, intricate way of calculating it, lol.
Hey guys! So I was confused about how nursing car averaged the math and science.
Under "overall" I have a 3.37, but I thought it was weird how they didn't calculate the math and science portion for uthscsa already.
Do you all know for sure if uthscsa calculates our math and science based on the pre reqs?
Thanks everyone for the support. I called my schools and I know one sent them out last week so I think that due to late send out, plus the storm delaying everything since NursingCAS is in Massachusetts, I'm just not going to have everything in on time in this cycle.
Good luck you guys! I'll probably be checking this thread often so I can come see everyone make it in. :)
Hi stephfutureRN06! At the info session I went to, they said they will calculate your math and sciences GPA from the prereqs (natural sciences and math prereqs). I believe Nursing CAS calculates your math and sciences GPA from all math/science courses you've ever taken, regardless of whether it was a prereq or not. Hope that helps! :)
