Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?
I have only dealt with the staff over at UTHSCSA and they are always very helpful and nice! I'm guessing this is uncommon? Anybody else watching their email like a hawk?
Hello! I've been following the thread and figured I would say hi. I'm anxiously awaiting word of whether I got in or not too. Any idea when we are supposed to hear something? Older threads seemed to be early March. Good luck everybody!
Shouldn't be too long then! I applied to both SAC Nursing and UTHSCSA. I'm considering Baptist also, but not sure if I want to do that program only because I've taken all those prereqs for UTH and the cost of their program is pretty steep. But then again, it's pretty competitive and I just want to get started. I can't wait till we hear some kind of news! Checking my email every day...

I submitted my application and transcripts last minute, therefore, I probably won't get a supplemental package along with the rest of ya'll. Good news is that one of the admissions personnel told me that as long as my TEAS V, app and transcript were post dated before the deadline, I would still be eligible for admissions. YaY! So now I'm just waiting "patiently" and keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck 2014 hopefuls!

hey i'm in the same boat as you! I also submitted my transcripts last minute (on the 27th) and i found out they just got to the nursingcas center on the 7th. I wonder if UTHSCSA will look at that?? I thought I was done for but now that you say that the post marked date counts, I have hope again! good luck and I hope it works out for us all!!

nm1900: Yea, I don't think that the date submitted will be a determining factor, as long as our transcripts were post dated before Feb. 1st... well at least I hope not!

Has anybody else noticed how polite the UTHSCSA office is when answering the phone compared to other nursing schools?
