UTHSCSA Traditional BSN Application Fall 14

Published

Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

Hey guys...I'm sitting here studying for my TEAS and praying that they don't shut the test site down tomorrow (because this city does shut down when it hits freezing temps...lol)& I've got the flu. :dead: Wouldn't you know that my test is scheduled on the one day SA will get flippin' snow...gotta love Texas weather! With only one week to have this done, I'm kicking myself in the a** for not scheduling it earlier. Keep some fingers crossed for me!

good luck; you'll do great! If it makes you feel any better, I didn't submit my application until the very last day before it was due. You have nothing to worry about! Best of luck :)

I will be applying for this school fall of 2015 so I am looking forward to see everyones experience! Anyone here need to have classes petitioned to be accepted?

That's (hopefully) the time I'll be attending as well. I signed up to attend one of their info. sessions on Feb. 15th to ask some questions, look at my transcripts and where I stand right now, even though it's probably really early.

I have applied to the Fall 2014 session as well. I finished the nursing CAS app Monday, took the TEAS last Saturday. With all of the craziness I had been reading about the test, I was really freaked out about it. That ATI Study Guide helped a great deal. I was very surprised when I got the scores.

Program Type: ADN

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 89.3%

ATI Academic Preparedness Level: Advanced

Percentile Rank - National - 98

Percentile Rank - Program - 99

Reading - 95.2%

Mathematics - 90.0%

Science - 89.6%

English and Language Usage - 80.0%

So now I wait to see if my transcripts actually get to Nursing CAS on time and they process it all in time for the Feb. 1 deadline. I sent them a little later than they recommend. I have decided to not flip out about any of it anymore...if it is meant to happen, it will. (I'm a little conflicted, since my youngest starts kinder in the fall too, I'd be ok if the next spring app gets me in, rather than the upcoming fall, so that I can make sure she is ok, before I run off and do my own thing...oh momma guilt)

Here's a chilled out semester before we all start the Fall at UTHSC! Best of luck to you all!

tx2stepper, were you able to take your TEAS test? If so, how do you feel about it?

The information session is a very helpful thing to attend. I attended one pretty early on too, better to go to it early and get your questions answered than get stuck needing a class or two down the road and having to wait to apply.

Im waiting for nursing cas to eval my gpaa good luck everyone. ITs taking such a long time

Did they ever finish your GPA calculation? They told me it would take 12 days.. Mine still hasn't been posted.

So I finally heard back from TX State and they are going to drop those grades! So happy. The only downfall is that it will take 5-7 business days from today, so I still will not meet the deadline for fall but I am good to go for the soring application cycle. Good luck to you all!!

Howdy everybody! Figured I would introduce myself in case I see some of y'all in the fall.

Can anyone list the math and science courses requirements for me? I'm kind of confused since it's different from the other schools I'm applying to.

Yeah, every school I've applied to was different
