Hello! So I had seen threads started for past classes and didn't see one yet for the Fall of 2014 class, so I figured I would start one. So let me introduce myself. My name is Will Long, I am a 27 years old male and I am applying for UTHSCSA's Traditional BSN program for the Fall of 2014. I have started my application and have signed up to take the TEAS test next Friday. I am pretty excited about finally being able to apply after finishing up all the pre-reqs. Anyways I was hoping this thread could be used a source of information and a place to ask each other questions throughout the application process. Anybody else out there applying? Have you already taken your TEAS test?

So a question for y'all...did you complete the personal statement? Other threads for prior classes indicate UTHSCSA doesn't require it, that they will need something similar on the supplementary app (if you get that far based on gpa, TEAS, etc)...I'm just wondering if it would still look better to do it...thoughts?
I talked to Cara Steading down at the admissions office at UTHSC yesterday and she said, "You are only required to complete the “required” portions of the on-line NursingCAS application. A supplemental application will be sent to all eligible applicants after the February 1st application deadline, and will include a section for a statement of purpose and a residency questionnaire. "
So I wouldn't bother with it.
You guys did great! Seeing those scores really makes me want to get off my butt and go study right now. haha. I finally got some transcripts from back in 04-05 and they have me pretty worried. Fall of 04 was fine, but I had some financial aid problems in spring of 05 and my financial aid did not come through so my dorm nor my classes were paid for. Stupid me, I was young and figured my classes would get dropped since they weren't paid for. Now almost a decade later and I find out that all the classes from that semester were F's. What a blow! I really hope that isn't going to hurt my chances too much. Such a stupid, stupid mistake from my young self. ugh...
Well, guys. I had to file an appeal against those grades because the classes should have been dropped years ago. Though I am not sure how long the appeals process takes, it looks like it may not be soon enough to apply for the fall semester. I will keep checking the status of the appeal, and will hopefully meet the Feb. 1st deadline. Good luck to all of you!!
