UTHSCSA Spring 2016

I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.

I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?

I got the cheapest, a 14 inch Dell latitude e5450 for about $1500. There were 4 computers to choose from. The other Dell was a 15 inch touch screen dell. And 2 different Mac books. But the Dell has the most up to date processor, an i7 while every other one was an i5.

Ugh! Just kill me now 😱

Hey, I don't know about the rest of you guys, but my transcripts still aren't verified and it is really annoying. It's been nearly a month after application deadline and they still haven't gotten to mine; they've had the transcripts since the beginning of July.

Mine haven't been verified either. They've had mine since the end of May I think, maybe beginning of June. I'd have to look.

It is annoying. I've emailed nursingcas multiple times and the responses make no sense.

They received my transcripts fairly quick though. So that adds to the aggravation.

I had to send my transcripts twice because they didn't receive the first one. I just sent an email couple hours ago, we'll see what they say. I'd really hate to be denied admission because of something we have no control over.

This is what they told me in the last email I sent nursingcas:

"Thank you for contacting NursingCAS. As soon as you submit and pay, the program

you have applied to can see your application. So if you are missing one

transcript and you submit then the school can see that. After taking a look at

your application I can see that you are currently in the complete status. The

complete status indicated to us and the program that you have submitted your

application and that we have receive all transcripts. Once in complete status

you are place in line for verification. The verification process can take 4-6

business week. Some programs require would like students to be in the complete

status before reviewing there application other programs like to view the

students application once verification is complete. The decision lie with the

admissions office of the program"

Uthscsa doesn't go by the verification date. They have obviously considered your apps because they've sent out rejections for incomplete coursework already. What's important is that all coursework was completed and transcripts were posted by July 29. What's nerve wrecking is the wait. Hopefully we'll know in about 3 weeks or maybe even less! I'm super excited. Do you think there were many applicants? It's not very many of us in this thread...

The waiting is extremely nerve wreaking. There are some days that go by that I don't even think about being accepted/rejected. However, most days I'm constantly checking my email, like every 30 mins, for an acceptance/rejection email from admissions.

I also wonder how many applicants there are because there has been very little on here compared to previous semesters.

Did you guys check out the stats for the Fall 2015 class; they only admitted 100 students >.

But if you look they put out 135 offers, 102 enrolled.

The thing that scares me is that I'm way below their average TEAS score but very well above the gpa.

Give me an offer! I will definitely accept. This is the only school I applied to. I'm right there with the teas average score but I didn't complete the math part so I'm super nervous about that.

Yessss! Give me an offer and I'd immediately accept! I have a feeling though I won't get accepted all cause of my horrible 73 TEAS score.

Sucks cause I have a 4.0 science and math gpa :/...but I also applied to Baptist. I believe their priority deadline is September 15th and the final deadline is October 15th.
