I'm considering going to nursing school through the Baptist Health System in San Antonio or UTHSCSA. Most people I get advice from tell me hands down to go for UTHSCSA. I would like to hear from more of you who are currently enrolled or have gone through the nursing school program at either one of these locations in San Antonio. What did you like about the teachers, faculty, the content you were learning, etc. What were your hours like at school and if you had kids, how did you manage your time.
I am still a pre-nursing student and have one more semester in Spring of 2014 to complete before I can apply. I am very excited and just want to know more information. Also, a close family friend is attending nursing school at Wayland Baptist and informed me that their nursing program is shutting down. Is there any truth to this?
It was an email.
"Thank you for your interest in the Spring 2016 Traditional BSN Program at The University of Texas Health Science Center. Your application has been carefully reviewed and we regret to inform you that you are not eligible for admission due to not completing all the required math and science courses. Currently, you are lacking Nutrition and Microbiology with Lab. To view a list of admission requirements, please visit our website by clicking on the following link: The University of Texas Health Science Center - School of Nursing"
And I 100% knew I was not getting in. I finished my final courses "Nutrition and Micro" on July 30th and my professors / school did not post my grades until August 9th. Thats why when I submitted my application the classes did not site "complete" grades. I chose to apply although I knew i was not eligible due to a technicality, and it was worth applying and being rejected rather than not applying and never knowing "what if?"
Deep breathes, everyone!

UTHSCSA should really think of extending that deadline until September 1st instead of August 1st that away summer students are eligible for admissions. By making the deadline August 1st, summer students have to wait seven whole months before they can apply again if they are finishing up their last science courses. Some of us are trying to get into school as quickly as possible so we can work!!!
Have you considered the Accelerated BSN program? You can apply this December if you want to do the crash course in 18 months instead of two years.

At least you tried! It really does suck though that grades posted after the dead line. It would be awesome if the health science center had a later application date to give people taking summer classes a chance to apply for the relevant program.
Are you going to try and apply for the Fall 2016 program?

Hey. I'm currently in the nursing program. Since you do have the classes completed. Email the the person that sent you the denial (we cant say names on allnurses)back and inform them that you have completed those classes. Offer to send an official transcript. Send an unofficial via email to her. It doesn't hurt to try. I would do it asap!! if I were you.

Sounds like a good idea!!
I got the cheapest, a 14 inch Dell latitude e5450 for about $1500. There were 4 computers to choose from. The other Dell was a 15 inch touch screen dell. And 2 different Mac books. But the Dell has the most up to date processor, an i7 while every other one was an i5.
Is the computer part of tuition or is it a separate fee that's paid right then and there when you get it?
