hello all,
guess i'll get our thread started. i've watched these over the last few semesters, and it's a great way to share information and get to know each other.
i applied earlier this month, and got an e-mail this evening letting me know that i am eligible regarding my prerequisites. i was surprised to get something back so quickly since the deadline is july 1. anyway, that's the first step in the process...a long, long process. :) hopefully, there will be plenty of us on here to keep each other company.
look forward to getting through this process with you.
OMGosh it was so funny! On Tuesday there were two other people in my Chem class that got in to the UTHSCSA SON too! I'm so excited to see more people on here! Has anyone received the hard copy letter yet or just emails? Well I'm taking Chem 1407, Micro and A&P II right now and I'm pretty sure my brain is going to explode, but... I'm so happy that I got in and that's what will keep me going these next few months! Congrats to everyone who got in!!
i'm not exactly sure yet. i did stop in and talk them briefly when i went for an open house. because i was laid off earlier this year, and i am still not working, my income is substantially lower than what i reported on my FAFSA. they have a process in which that can be taken into consideration. sorry i'm not much help, but hopefully, after monday i will have more information to share. at this point you should have at least done the FAFSA. if you haven't, you should and make sure you have it sent to the school.
finally got my packet today. heading to san antonio wednesday to drop everything off and start working on financial aid.
regarding the badge number...i could be wrong, but you may already have your badge number assigned. i noticed on the first e-mail regarding transcript eligibility, there is an HSC badge number on the excel spreadsheet. maybe they assign them as we apply. just a thought.
Congrats all those that have been accepted into nursing school. It's a blast. Clinical classes are exciting and very hands on. There is a whole lot of reading that you have to read every night literally but you can do it. For those that are on the waiting list, there where people that got a slot this semester so don't lose hope.
Our scrubs are burnt orange (yeah, :)

Thanks a lot for the information on the housing...ill go ahead and look at those see if i can find any info on the internet...this semester in taking the humanities elective and i also got accepted into a nursing program here in the valley and im taking those classes..the reason i applied for this nursing program in the valley was in case i didnt get into uthscsa which i was scared i was not going too...luckily i did...my overall GPA is at a 3.7 or.8 not really sure cause i've gone to 4 diff schools..my teas wasn't so good..scored low 80s..but like Aggie 2005 mentioned they really look at the whole person and prob the course load cause this summer i took govt II, stats, chem II, and microbiology...and the spring semester i went to two diff schools at the same time to take my basics...in the end it all worked out and i'm glad i got accepted and given an opportunity to attend a great nursing school yay!!
