UTHSCSA spring 2010 hopefuls!

Published

Okay so im applying to uthscsa for the spring and was wondering if anyone knows what gpa they look at and any other helpful ideas to get an interview etc. my prereq gpa is 3.74 but my overall gpa is a 3.44...is that going to hurt my chances? i went in for a transcript review and debbie calculated the wrong gpa for me and i didnt notice until i got home. i hope they dont mess up with my application. eeeek im so nervous i wanna do everything possible to get in!!:D the only other place im applying to is sac but i much rather get my bachelor degree then an associates....

Happy New Year everyone =]

I found my books by going through the UTHSCSA bookstore and entering all the classes we registered for. http://uthscsa.bncollege.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BNCBHomePage?storeId=39552&catalogId=10001&langId=-1 I ended up getting all the "Required" ones, but some of the used ones look like they've never been opened.

Punx, the places I've been to around the Medical Center are pretty pricey, but at that meet and greet thing in December, one of the current students said some stores in the medical center give a discount w/ our student IDs. =].

Also, did anyone that went to the VA for an additional background check finish the online questionnaire? I can't get past those "golden questions" and when I call their office, no one picks up.. hmm.

AND, last but not least =P. I just called and they said we'll be getting an e-mail this afternoon about parking arrangements for orientation. I really hope we don't have to park out in Zone 5 just yet =P

LeslieJoy....I am so so glad that you posted about the VA issue. I have had the same problem. Do you answer the three questions and then it says login fail? I called both the school an d the lady who hadled our background session and she has yet to return my message. If I hear anything I will let you know.

Cyclical the only thing I didnt buy from your list was those CD's the first first link you used.

I would also say the mosby diagnostic book is useless...

Everything else I used!

I think there is a scrub shop on fredriskburg (sorry cant ever spell that street) by this quiznos that people recommend... (but for the most part if you know your size I just think the internet is better)

Thanks! I'll skip over those 2 then :D:):)

Hey all, well we've gotten to it... it starts tomorrow. Anyone planning on meeting tomorrow? I will be getting there for the breakfast they have listed (at least coffee) and look forward to meeting those of you I haven't met yet. It's not hard to miss me, seeing as to how I am 1 of only 22 males in the class. I have dark, short hair, I wear glasses, and (the telling sign) have a small bald spot on the left side of my head (a birthmark). Please come up and introduce yourselves, don't be shy. See you all tomorrow! :mnnnrsngrk:

Hi, just wanted to help out a little. There is a good place to buy scrubs on Fredericksburg called Medix. They have a wide selection and most of the time there are great sales!

Here's their website:

Hope this helps!

AFMedx13- hopefully by now you are well on your way towards becoming an RN! I am a UTHSCSA Fall 2010 applicant. I noticed you said you were living in Japan, so I am guessing you applied to school using the NECP scholarship? If so, I would love to talk to you!

Im a current student at texas a&m and im applying to the Accelerated BSN program at uthscsa. I scored a 81.8 on teas and my preq gpa is 3.44 does anyone think i will have a good chance of getting in?

Juston,

I think your chances are very good. Good luck. ;)
