Okay so im applying to uthscsa for the spring and was wondering if anyone knows what gpa they look at and any other helpful ideas to get an interview etc. my prereq gpa is 3.74 but my overall gpa is a 3.44...is that going to hurt my chances? i went in for a transcript review and debbie calculated the wrong gpa for me and i didnt notice until i got home. i hope they dont mess up with my application. eeeek im so nervous i wanna do everything possible to get in!!
the only other place im applying to is sac but i much rather get my bachelor degree then an associates....
Bump. Feels like we're going to have a very small class for spring, not that I'm complaining
All this waiting to find out if I get an interview is freaking me out. I'm regularly having nightmares that I have no chance and I stay up many nights thinking of how I should've worked harder in school and done more extracurriculars. A friend of mine with a 3.95 got rejected last semester and I can't get my mind around that
This is my first choice school and I really want to be here. Getting a rejection letter would be a terrible blow.
Hey CE... so what were the reasons given for your friend's rejection? That's a little unnerving to hear... a 3.95 GPA and they didn't get in? Scary alright... but the only thing left to do is wait and see. I know the waiting is bad, but I just keep playing the Tom Petty song "Waiting" in my head. Anyhow, let's cross our fingers... maybe we'll be classmates sooner than you think.
Hmmm that just doesn't add up! She mustve not been eligible or something else going on because I don't see why she would not have even got an interview...
In my chem 2 class right now there are 3 people who are to attend UTHSCSA this fall. I talked to two and they both had around a 3.5 GPA and in the 80s for the TEAS test so i think we should have a pretty good chance
I received my evaluation letter almost a month ago. I noticed on my online application I made a typo error and was really upset about that!! (I looked over it twice before I sent it!) So I really hope that won't hurt my chances for an interview but as for right now I'm just trying not to think about it because otherwise it will just make the wait longer lol.
Update
I had an interview with one of the advisors today. We had a mock interview and she answered a few questions for me. She also gave me a sample list of questions that they ask during the interview (which I've attached.) In addition to that she gave me about half a harry potter's book worth of practice questions for the TEAS test that we have to take during the interview. I'd be happy to upload them if anyone really wants them, but it's a pretty big stack of pages and I wouldn't have time to do it until after the 15th (day of my NET test for other schools).
I'd highly recommended arranging a meeting. The mock interview alone was well worth it.

Hey everyone, been out of the loop for a little while getting everything prepared for our move to SA this weekend, can't wait. It's good to see that you got that eligibility straightened out CE. Now it's just a waiting game for all of us since the deadline passed on July 1st. Kassi, you get that letter yet? And to all other Spring 2010 hopefuls, we're waiting to hear from you. Drop us a line to introduce yourselves. We want to know who else feels the anxiety that we're feeling. Can't wait!
